I've only started going through the 7 compilation recently, So I came in with expectation of them going to suck Gackt's dick throughout the whole game, but I was pleasantly surprised.

No fuck off, it's a shit game whether judged on its own merits or as part of FF7's story. Genesis was worse than terrible, Angeal was barely a character at all, every other new character had so little screen time they didn't even matter. Even the gameplay was janky and controlled like shit, and yes the roulette made it even worse.
