Its damage is also terrible. Sure it has a versatile moveset but it's one that can be easily parryable. If it hit like a truck I could agree with you but its base damage is terrible and it can't be infused or buffed as much.

I like the breakdance sword, since I use the shield of want it's nice to catch someone off guard with it's skill art while still 1handing the thing.
also not enough people utilize both spins and the jump slash, the jump slash has great tracking if you unlock.

FUGS still one of the best scaling weapons in the game, yet it does less damage than nearly all the greataxe's and half the UGS's.
the S scaling on the fugs was 112-115%, so prepatch it was 330+376. now its 260 + 310, which is ~119%, so they actually increased the scaling a bit. yet its still terrible.

I don't even know why carthus curved sword is rated so highly - sure at close range comboing is devastating, but if anyone has half a mind to parry or is using bkh/red hally/lucerne you will get out-ranged and out-traded every single time

I'm just trying to do a pyromancy/ninja playthrough and I don't stand a chance against any invader with the latest meta weapons like Estoc, spiked club, or twin swords.

No they don't, they do if you stand there and let them. After two hits you can roll away or do whatever. If someone is literally mashing R1 in your face tank the first two hits and mash Parry, you'll get them 99% of the time.
