Which do I choose?
If you have friends that are gonna be playing overwatch regularly then get that. If no friends then Doom. Just keep in mind Doom multiplayer sucks

I really want to play Overwatch but I played the beta and it definitely feels like what was in it doesn't justify the price at all
Overwatch is a free 2 play game that got a price tag slapped on it. It doesn't feel like a complete game is what I'm trying to say. Get DOOM now and get Overwatch later(when it's finished with all of the extra DLC patched in).

You pay 40 bucks and get content by actually playing the game. Also includes all future DLC.
Im willing to bet Doom will not have the same lifespan as OW... but honestly they're both good and it should come to personal taste.
overwatch will probably last longer in regards to multiplayer, since it's multiplayer only.
Doom is a great single player experience though, I wouldn't spend $60 on it though, I felt it was totally worth the $20 I got it for though.

You can get OW for 40 bucks and have a long lasting multiplayer game, or get DOOM for 60 bucks and have a solid single player game with decent replayability and an absolute shitshow of a multiplayer mode tacked on. Seems kind of obvious to me.
Also, Bethesda games have a track record of going on turbo sale later down the road; I think I got the new Wolfenstein game for five bucks only a few months after it came out. DOOM's great and all, but if all you care about is the single player - and that's all you really should care about - it'll be there waiting for you when it goes on sale. Being a part of the multiplayer scene as it develops in Overwatch is something that you won't be able to pick up later as easily.
