I've always used ctrl as crouch be it with arrows, wasd or rdfg

That's wrong though. Being personally used to using the arrow keys is objectively worse than WASD, TFGH or UHJK, simply by virtue of there having less keys in direct vicinity. The only more retarded setup is 8456, which leaves 90% of the keyboard unused, unless you're using your right hand for movement and left hand for other controls, in a game in which the mouse is unused.

I actually like using caps lock instead of ctrl, just because it's easier to move my pinky up than down
