I have a soft spot for ENB, but this playthrough has really triggered me. Like everyone I really wanted to see him do a blind runthrough, but I have realised that he just isn't as autistic as me (and by proxy most of /v/) in terms of exploring every last area.
His Bloodborne playthrough which was thoroughly edited and focused on lore was excellent, whereas in this he's missed whole areas, his fashion is fucking shit, and his mannerisms come across as very annoying because he's not as focused on the playthrough/ lore.

Frankly, i found dark souls 3 pretty boring with the exception of the bosses. The areas to me constantly felt like i was going through someplace where i had already gone through in a previous game, with very few exceptions, but most of the time the areas were also really small.
Maybe it's just me but even with the shitty level design i enjoyed going through areas more in 2 because most of the time they felt different. Most of the bosses are complete shit in 2 obviously so that side of the game is very disappointing. That's obviously not counting the DLC, i like the crown dlcs more than souls 3.

From my point of view, NG+ is just a bonus, it's just an increase in difficulty, and Dark souls 2 was the first game where i felt like i had a reason to go to NG+, because there was some armor or something that i wanted from it.
And the good thing about ascetics was that i could individually put areas in NG+ where i wanted to get x item or where i need y item.
And on that subject, you may not be talking about DS3 but i think that it's a huge downgrade that you have to go through the entire game to get 1 or 2 rings that you need or want, where in 2 you could specifically NG+ an area where the item you wanted was. That said, i agree with

But also, nothing should exist behind the NG+ difficulty barrier. Fuck a "bonus". You know what a bonus is? First of all, you can't reliably predict what a NG+ boss will drop, unless you're reading the guide. Or you have already defeated them in NG+. So the idea of "picking and choose" what you want to get, only works if you don't play blind.
Second of all, what if you want to try different things? The game gives you the ability to reallocate your points. What if you want to reallocate from a pure melee to a wizard? Before, you only asceticed for the ring that benefited your melee build. Now you need to go back and ascetic for the mage build too?
It just pisses me off. Because it's essentially that bullshit some games pull where in order to get the best equipment in the game, you have to perform the most difficult challenges. Thus rending the equipment useless, because everything you want to defeat with it, is already dead.
I hope ENB will do other things after souls is done. Dragons crown was nice.
