I'm never worried about this because I am constantly saving, constantly creating new saves, and I make sure to save like two times in a row before turning a game off.
It's not even something I have to think of. It just happens. It's motor reflexes at this point.

Same here, it's like a second nature. I always end my rpgs with several hundreds of saves. Used to be thousands before I finally made my peace with quicksaves. And I don't even savescum.
Pic related. And they are all proper save files, every last one of them. Did you know that despite it looks like you have unlimited number of save slots in Deus Ex, it is actually capped at 1000? Yup. I bet none of you bitches ever realized this.

>haven't played Gothic 2 in years

>still have the habit of manually saving every five seconds subconsciously
It's like a quicksave but not an actual quicksave at this point for me.

Wow, I don't go that far. I just make a new save for each new area. I like overwriting saves.

Happened to me yesterday playing Xcom 2, 4th mission in and the Viper king showed up in the middle of a tough skirmish

Overwriting saves takes more clicks. Fuck that. If I'm going to make a save once every two minutes on average, I might as well make it at least a bit less time consuming.
