3 is better in every way. More fun situations, more fun abilities, more fun script. Awesome platforming, great trippy dancy segments, amazing GBA connectivity, etc. Rayman 2 is dated.

Did anyone play the ps2 remaster? I remember it having a pretty cool over world compared to the n64 version where you just have level select.

Am I the only one who doesn't really like Rayman Origins? I love Rayman 1-3 but I have the feeling that Origins almost plays itself.
You just hold right the whole time and press jump when the collectibles show you to do so. You could say that about many platformes but Origins took it to the extreme. The hidden stuff was the only fun stuff imo.
Haven't played Legends though. Is it better there?

The original is a great game, but it was horribly broken in quite a number of ways. The game didn't even have any QA. Honestly the Rayman series is generally phenomenal, 1, 2, 3 (less so), Origins and Legends are all fantastic games.
I think I like both 2 and 3 equally, but 1 only being slightly worse for being a little tedious to collect all the toon things. Also I'll be pissed if we don't see a 3D Rayman this E3.

Rayman 1 is my personal favourite and no game will ever reach the mysterious and magical feel. You're really travelling through a lucid dream the colorful and cute graphics are ultra appealing. It also has the perfect difficulty for a 2D platformer it really tests your pateince and skills, ps1/saturn is by far the best version lf the game.

I didn't play Origins but I know exactly what you're talking about, so it's in Legends. The thing is, that IS good game design, at least in Legends. Everything requires nicely, balanced challenging timing, but it DOES have an almost automatic flow as you are saying. It's just preference really, but if this is what they're good at then I say more power to them.

not even, in 2 you rarely got fights with more than 1 enemy at a time(enemy=robopirate, caterpillars don't count), in 3 it's common to have to fight 3-4 enemies at the same time. it's naturaly for the game to have more combat if they implemented a combo system
