Every single character has a gimmick now, but Ganon has fucking NOTHING. He's just a slow hitter with moves that are slow but """"""rewarding"""""" which doesn't mean shit if your character has a sword or intangible hitboxes so you never have to approach and he's too slow to be a rushdown character like Falcon.
His fastest move comes out on frame 7, his shield punish is nonexistent due to how fucking fast shields regenerate. His grab is so short you can't punish smashes on shield like other characters because he gets pushed out of their range. His body never leaves the z-axis like other characters so it's extremely easy to his him out of his dodges.
He has fantastic specials locked behind shitty customs, and his regular specials are just worse than Falcon's in every way for the sake of being slow and worse. Despite the fact that Falcon's down and side be can KILL at equal/lower percentages than his. The only difference is his warlock punch and uptilt which are fucking meme moves. At least Brawl had untechable standing side-b's and chain grab, and at least in Melee your double jump resets after you use down-b.

The Ganon fixes he needs will literally never happen in this game, because his problems are tied to the fact that he's a slower Falcon clone STILL after 3 games.
The only thing that will ever happen is that his moves will do more damage and kill earlier, which doesn't fix his problems and only make him more annoying to fight. I love Ganon but he needs to be reworked heavily to fix the problems he has.

It just goes to show how sterile and neutered this iteration of Smash is. In Melee you could recover your jump after a down-b, l-canceling made him really fun character for tech chasing opponents with your stomp. Even though he was a low tier the mechanics of Melee still gave a good experience at high level play.
Smash 4 is too rigid with everything there's no way to play around his fundamentally bad design other than just out playing trades against your opponent 100% of the time which is just stressful as opposed to rewarding because all it takes is one bad move to eat shit and lose a stock.
