the most important thing to learn about this game is the inside track is the worst place you can ever be. You want to be as far away from the inside during a turn without getting into a stamina drain zone so you don't get boxed in during the final stretch

After playing the demo for about three hours, I bought the game.
It's addictive as hell. I'm still getting my ass kicked in later G1 races because every other horse has way higher stats than me and I can't quite catch up.
I'm guessing you're meant to do quite a few cycles of eugenics before having horses strong enough? Or am I just bad?

Though it's stamina is garbage and can easily do you in if you let your horse tire out, it's speed is way above the standard horses you start with.
It's literally, Git Gud: The Horse, because the only way to not lose stamina is to perfect games of solitaire in a reasonable comfort zone, or buy carrots, which would imply you've won enough games to afford them in the first place.

I'm making an exception of the special horses with this one. Fire Boy (which should be the previous horse if I remember correctly) is just an overall better horse, but the standard horses available as an alternative to Idoru's horse should have a lower comparative speed, but better stamina, maybe them more reliable with less payoff.
