Denuvo is mandatory DRM protection for PC games nowadays.

Deal with it.
>>
I don't even know what this game is, I was not aware it's coming out and now looking at it, it's not interesting in the slightest.

Ok, I guess?
>>
Denuvo continues to be uncrackable.
Not because it actually can't be cracked, but because the interest in Homefront 2 is so small that most people don't even remember its existence. Not aren't aware of; even after being told about it, they still won't remember. Ever.

With Denuvo you can't crack the game itself, but you can work around Denuvo and attempt to emulate steam

The biggest problem with being "uncrackable" is that you're limiting the lifespan of your game. If people didn't crack old DOS games no one would even be able to play them. Most old-school DRM required a manual to find your key, they never imagined digital distribution would take off. Now it's possible we might lose even more computer games in the future once devs stop maintaining the game.
>>
>>337917746

Why have I never heard of a good game using denuvo yet? Most games I see using it have mediocre critic reviews and terrible user scores yet I see it shilled here all the time by people pretending anyone wanted to pirate these games in the first place. Really makes you think, huh.....
>>
>>337920953
OK, so the original Homefront was developed by Kaos Studios for THQ in 2011. THQ spent a bunch of money on it, and it didn't do shit in the marketplace. Despite its commercial failure, and Kaos Studios' closure as a result, THQ pressed on, tapping Crytek, specifically their UK division, better known as "the guys who used to be Free Radical", for the sequel. Amazingly, it was determined that THQ spent waaay too much money on stupid shit, and wound up going bankrupt as a result. I believe at that point, Crytek purchased the Homefront IP, I imagine to hang on to whatever work they had done for the sequel, and because they apparently believed in this lame-duck Red Dawn knockoff. At some point after Ryse sputtered as a "marquee" Xbone launch title, checks at Crytek started bouncing. I'm not sure if that cleared up, but I know that they aren't publishing this game.

>>337921064
Nope! No Chex Quest HD for anyone! Thanks, SnapMapâ„¢!

>>337921540
They don't want you playing a game 20 years after it comes out. they either want you playing the 16th sequel, and the 8K remake-remaster, where all the characters have been replaced with grey blobs to avoid offending anyone.
>>
>>337921540
so much this, I'll never buy a denuvo game at full price, drm is cancer. for example bioshock on steam doesn't work on windows 10 but if you replace the exe with the drm free one (either scene crack or humble bundle) the game works perfectly fine. There is a long ass thread about this issue on steam but of course they never cared to fix it.

Most of the old games people care about have been cracked. That's the point, if you can't crack it then it will eventually be unplayable. Old games are hard enough to get running without dealing with shitty DRM, look at the Steam reviews for some Night Dive Studios games or older Star Wars games, they have tons of negative reviews because the publishers released the game on store but it takes an autistic amount of effort to get running

I am curious abot denuvo. Last night I had a question about my self. Denuvo is an Anti-Tamper,aye? Not a DRM... Denuvo protects the DRM behind the game, right? And we can't crack it, cuz reverse engineering is not working here, denuvo uses 64bit, and we don't have 64 debuggers for this porpuse. An options comes here now, wait/make a 64bit debugger or a software for reaching our goal. In fact, Denuvo protects the .exe files too, and encrypts the data of the game so either can't modify .exe or do one for this porpuse, data files are still encrypted. I know there is some a way to crack denuvo, but we don't got the tools right now. Almost a year past, and still there is a slightly info that we know, and even less result. As DOOM has released, I can see how crackers are focusing on this game together, and there is a big chance to get this game cracked, with Denuvo too. Wouldn't be easier to find a way to bypass denuvo and make a tool for it? I am just asking. Could you please correct me if I see these things wrong? Thank you

I vary rarely call people shills for talking about games. I understand people like games I don't like, and that's fine. If you're excited about the release of a game you like, that's fine too.

Denuvo isn't a game though, if anything it's anti-gaming, for the reasons people have stated repeatedly ITT. DRM can kill games so you can never play them, and it kills modding outside of simple shit like shaders and maybe texture replacements. If you support Denuvo you're either shitposting or shilling, neither of which looks good on you.

Fuck you guys

Also I'd be surprised if this turns out to have any impact on sales, I never pirated a game that I would have been willing to buy without buying it a later date after liking my time with it.
The shit I pirated and didn't buy was stuff like Fable 3 which I ultimately disliked

It doesn't do so nearly as well as it should. Why is the second core at 90% when the rest of the cores are sitting between 20 and 40%?

These graphs also claim that HT cores aren't true cores, but you could say that about AMD's Bulldozer cores as well. It's unfairly biased.

The problem is the first game tried way to hard to be melodramatic and made it feel like your character had no agency. That doesn't translate well to open world. I can't imagine this game being fun to just fuck around like GTA, TES or Saint's Row for example.

I've played every TR game on PC and I like the reboots even though they're a bit different. RotTR fixed pretty much all the flaws with the 2013 version and that one was extremely well-liked. The only negative reviews of RotTR were people complaining about performance, and I admit the game had some framerate drops in the two main hub areas on launch but those are fixed. The two reboots were fine regardless of your crazy Denuvo conspiracies.

That leaves

Far Cry Primal - Ubisoft game with bad performance and bugs... What a surprise.

Dragon Age Inquisition - It doesn't run that bad and all problems on the PC version are also in the console version which doesn't even have Denuvo.

JUST Cause 3 - Shitty port, also has bad performance on console.

Rise of the Tomb Raider - Shitty port, also runs bad on Xbone.

Hitman - shitty port performance has improved with patches.

Anno 2055 - Another Ubisoft game, say no more.

Batman AK - A shitty outsources port.

Out of the 19 games that use Denuvo only 6 have performance issues and several of which are just shitty ports.
