Honestly, it's my favorite JRPG since Chrono Trigger. I bought a 360 back in 2008 pretty much for Vesperia (though at the time, since SO4 had been announced for the 360 as well I thought more JRPG's would come to the 360 than PS4.. however after 2010.. that trend reversed, so I felt stupid), and if the PS3 version had come to the US... I may have gotten it again, and if they port the PS3 version to PC (please Baba please) .. I'd buy it again.
I really enjoyed the cast, combat system, visuals and music, item/skill system, and the world, even it's dub was top notch, only thing I thought was weak was it's kinda meandering story.

There was like a solid 5 years there where if you wanted jrpgs on a console you either needed a 360 or you were fucked. PS3 had Folklore, enchanted arms and I don't even remember anything else until like 2009 or 2010

yeah.. I mean I didn't buy either console at first, I waited a few years, because most of my gaming is done on PC. JRPG's is one of the only genres that I need a non nintendo console for (which I get nintendo consoles for nintendo exclusives and for local multiplayer like smash, it's good to have when you have friends over)..
Lost odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean, Infinite Undiscovery, Eternal Sonata, those were all 360 exclusive JRPG's by 2009, so.. it seemed like that was the way it was going to go between the two.
I didn't know why (my guess is that the PS3's cell processor was different enough to make it technically difficult to develop games for, it's just that as time went on developers got more used to it and were able to make more use of it, but you see in some multiplat ports how the 360 version performed better than the PS3 version for several years)
But now.. Tales is coming to PC, Final Fantasy is coming to PC, Atlus games are coming to PC.. I'm seeing less and less reasons to ever own a microsoft or sony console ever again.
Gameplaywise probably not.

I refuse to learn moon because even if I "know" moon, I'm still going to be having to translate it in my head, and many times, the dialogue will come off as not sounding natural for how people talk.
That's the difference between a good localization and a bad localization. Localization isn't just translation. It's also adapting a script so that the text and voice acting sound the way they should in that other culture, with references that make sense in that other culture rather than sticking to cultural references that make no sense to the target audience.

Zestiria's music is far worse than Symphonia's, it's about on par with Xillia in terms of being unmemorable but not as unbelievably appalling as Graces.
Symphonia's story is just as good as Phantasia's, which makes sense since both games are tied together.

It is. People play for the characters and gameplay. Symphonia is an RPG, the recycled idealist trying to better two worlds with one stone tripe gets old fast. I do wish they'd bring back the affection system, though, and have it actually contribute more. But not like Symphonia 2.

there's good battle themes in most Tales games.
I'd say for composition yes Fatalize and Like a Glint of Light are really good.. but god.. that instrumentation has not aged well.

As far as story goes... symphonia was okay, better than most Tales game stories, but if you're playing Tales for the PLOT.. that means that the gameplay must be weak.
Although, usually the series has good casts, even if the plot is shit the characters are enjoyable, the gameplay is enjoyable, and that's what matters most.

I personally think previous/later games had better battle themes. Zestiria has some good dungeon music (mostly because it's not Sakuraba) and Vesperia had really nice town music. Dahngrest was super catchy.

That doesn't make any sense. Part of learning a language is naturalizing a new method of syntax in your head. It would be natural within the context of Japanese.
