i was getting into (replaying) fallout 4 again.. and quite enjoying the surival mode, but after you find shaun the plot kind of falls apart and i lost interest again
I still don't see what other people see in this game. This is probably the only game I've ever had buyer's remorse for.

I don't hate FO4, it was just extremely forgetable.
I have 70 hours in the game and can't even remember one decent quest. Goddamn what did I even do in that game for 70 hours?
Despite the shit ass story and same old legacy Gamebryo issues, I enjoy FO4.
The new Survival mode is great (with the usuable cigarettes save mod because not being able to save makes it horribly fucking tedious), and the optimization patches really cleaned up the game. I can run it completely maxed with AA and everything on my 760 and get 40-50fps.

Never understood the hate, even for /v/. It's a f2p super casual game to play with your friends. I think everyone just takes it either way too serious, or sucks dick at a 4 button f2p video game designed for small children.

I personally liked Survival difficulty better before they added hunger, illness, no saving, etc.
It was a step in the right direction, because it proved they could actually scale everything and make an actual challenging difficulty that relied on more than just supremely spongey enemies.
I think not being able to save at will was what killed it most for me though. Illness and food needs weren't that bad, and the fatigue mechanic was clever, but holy FUCK was there nothing worse than painstakingly clearing the Corvega Plant, then dying afterwards on the way back to the settlement to find a bed to save, and having to do 2+ hours of work over again.

Settlements were such a cool idea, but ended up being way too tedious.
I didn't even figure out how to set up fucking supply lines for so long until someone explained to me how.
Before then, I was hauling all my fucking junk on my guy and companions from settlements to the castle to build my super fort like a dumbass.

As a followup, all of the current Minutemen overhauls are pretty good.
But the one thing that will fix the minutemen is allow squads to take settlements.
