A lot of non-raid based MMOs can be played like co-op games.
Monster Hunter is fun to co-op as well. It can be a bit makeshift but it's fun.
Best is Xenoverse with no items. Don't use any healing items and just co-op everything together. Trust me, it's great. The moments of brotherly desperation.

Honestly bloodborne is the best coop game ive ever played. It doesnt have the hollow bullshit of dark souls and its very easy to match up with the password system. Highly recommended.

Xenoverse as in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. It's a weird game to name for it but trust me, if you don't allow either of you to use items and don't get all meta with your build it's a fucking blast. The rush you get reviving your downed buddy while 3 dudes chase your 1 health having ass around is great.

I said it was much more forgiving, but a lot of players are pretty garbo, especially their first run through, and burn a shit ton of insight.
