I partially blame watching a play through of Broken Bonds, then watching JWong play Ninja Storm 4.

Why are the Naruto movies considered non canon? I always see people say its not canon to the manga but why does that matter? Arent the managa and anime different tellings of the same story? When a novel gets changed into a movie they're seperate pieces of fiction.

I see, I sometimes get confused why people say some of the DBZ movies that actually fit into the story arent canon. Like the Dead Zone, supposedly it isnt canon even though Garlic Jr gets a saga in the actual show because its ''filler'', which I dont see what it has to do with being canon even if its not in the manga.
