Because symphonia was liked by all the kiddies bandai decided they'd make a sequel of it and ended up butchering symphonia 2.

I hate how everything in Dark Souls happens outside of the game.
The entire "story" revolves around picking up clues and haphazardly trying to guess what it's all about. The scenario is pretty much kill everything on sight or something like that.
