Sometimes I can go a few days without coming here, because lately it has truly been the exact same shit day after day, most threads being directly copied word for word. I get so tired, bored, and fed up with it that I can't be bothered to browse the catalog.

/v/ is alright sometimes, but it really depends on the time of day. Right now it's pretty bad, despite what >>337791265 says there will always be times when shitposters are out in full force (now) and when things quiet down a bit (usually later on). It's so dynamic, a few days ago we had a thread about bees in games that was one of the best threads in a while. You never know which ones will take off. Or you can always try starting your own threads with an interesting topic (not too specific and not too broad).
I dunno, these are just things I've observed after being here a while. tl;dr it's pretty random but there are variables which can be manipulated.

Over the last year I started regularly browsing and posting on a 'traditional' phpBB forum. After over half a decade spent on anonymous imageboards (and textboards and whatever else's in the chan-o-sphere), it's such a breath of fresh fucking air. I almost forgot what it's like to spend hours upon hours browsing the internet and actually ENJOY doing so. Fuck complete anonymity and fuck registration-free posting and fuck regular content deletion and fuck all that other bullshit that supposedly makes Japanese-esque boards so superior to Western ones. A decent forum with a small, tightly-knit group of genuinely intelligent and funny people is miles better than what little worthwhile content you find on an imageboard. You don't even have to wade through mountains of garbage posted by retarded meme-spouting teenagers. You get a genuine feeling of community, like you're talking to real fucking people and not some faceless mass of underage idiocy.

And then a split is only in order if the two communities actively disturb one another.
