i did that in my childhood. funny thing about being the third child is mom and dad were so burned out on raising my brother and sister they just left me alone most of the time. by age 15 they were gone so much trying to make ends meet (they blew so much money sending my brother to college which amounted to nothing) that i had to teach myself how to cook and my mom would come home and be so proud that i made something for myself that wasn't pizza rolls and was actually remotely healthy.
