Took me 4-5 tries on my first playthrough and oneshot him on NG+ and NG++.
He's not too bad. In fact he's really slow, and actually what can fuck you up is your premature rolls.

I haven't fought this guy yet but I looked at some guy on stream fuck him with a SL1 character on NG6+. What's the big deal? he doesn't look that tough. All his moves are pretty telegraphed.
Honestly for me Pontiff Sullyvahn was a bitch. Took me like at least 5 tries to get him. I still don't know how I managed to do that by myself without any help. Fuck that boss was hard. Really satisfying when I beat him though.

Even if you could, he himself is pretty easy.
The first half of the fight is the annoying bit, mostly if you're using lock on, and especially if you don't know the dragon's moves well.

The guy himself was actually talking about it too though. He said something about Abyss Walkers actually being harder as a level 1(since everything is a one hit ko obviously)
From his moveset It just looks like it's telegraphed. Who knows, I might eat my own words when I get to him
