What size TV do you play your vidya on?

I have a 23 inch monitor for my PC as well as this TV,
>>
>>337741406
32 1080p for my consoles
27 1440p 144hz for my PC
>>
>>337741406
And I thought my setup was bad.
>>
>>337741546
I hated my 32 inch, reading text on it wasn't fun if you were more than 3 feet from it.

1080/1080p for me, I do plan to get a 4K TV later this year.

>>337741787
My monitor is alright, entry level Asus IPS panel

This is an alright TV, gonna be a lot better than my old 32 inch.

I have a gaymen PC as well but TVs are nice for comfy gaming in bed.

I play my vidya on an ancient, 32" Goodmans 1080i TV with one HDMI port. It gets red hot if it's been turned on for more than an hour, even if it's on standby, so I have to unplug it after use. Games with dark environments or fast action are almost impossible to play due to the interlacing blur. I'm poor.

Both 1080p, both superflat. I use Big Picture for anything I prefer playing with a controller.

Probably a stupid question but could a VR headset act as a replacement for a new TV or monitor?
My TV overscans and is some weird ass 1360x768 resolution and my 1080p monitor is getting discolored spots, so I'm looking for a new screen but I really want to try VR

I've got a shitty 32" 1080p LED in my living room, an even shittier 19" 1080p LCD for my PC in my bedroom, and a master race 16.5" CRT 2048x1536 with orgasmic colors that I mainly use.
>>
15", 4k resolution. This insane bastard of a panel cost me 300 bucks from the Thais. Utterly useless except for 4k movies, because you only need 1152p on something this small for AA to be completely unnecessary.
>>
>>337744815
the most important thing is input lag, that is what you dont want if you want to play games on it.

on my old tv without game mode there was almost a quarter of a second between pressing the button and donkey kong jumping, it often happened that I could not beat a level looking at the tv, but I could beat it when looking at the Wii U gamepad.
>>
>>337744772
ok
>>
>>337745014
Then why the fuck did you buy it?
>>
>>337745050
and game mode, eliminated much of the input lag, but made everything look much uglier.
ideally you want a tv in which you dont need game mode to avoid gamebreaking input lag.

why
>>
>>337745191
>>337745192
Because I'd just spent two solid weeks downloading Evangelion in 4k when my buddy in China told me about the panels. Put it in my laptop, sold the 1080p panel for 50 bucks on ebay.
>>
>>337745332
>4k laptop

what a waste
>>
>>337741924
I'm usually no more than 2-4 feet away from my 32 inch, so I don't really have all that much trouble with text.

>>
>>337745874
hd crt or normal crt?

4:3 or 16:9?
>>
>>337745619
I'd be inclined to agree with you if I'd bought it off the shelf. This thing is probably as close to a hand-built laptop as you can get, and because of the aforementioned buddy in Asia I managed to get top-tier shit for real cheap. I dunno if he's stealing it or somehting, but this thing can run the Bitcher 3 at 1152p at 50-60fps, and cost probably $1500 canadian monopoly monies. Hard to tell with all the swapping of shit I've done.
>>
>>337743271
>A foot and a half more of diagonal screen space
>isn't much
k

>>337741406
I fell for the ultrawide meme. A good quarter of games don't support the resolution, and the ones that do end up with jacked UI.
wonderful for non-gaming workflow though

I also have a 42'' living room TV for controller gaming / emulation.
>>
>>337744641
Theoretically, yes, but you wouldn't want to. Thrift stores have 4:9 flat screen monitors now for under $20 bucks.
>>
>>337746504
you do know that bigger screen =/= looks better. its resolution that matters.
>>
>>337744641
I really hope so. A 360 degree desktop would really help me, because I've got so many fucking windows I have to work with.
>>
>>337746863
While yes resolution is important, because of it's size, nobody is going to sit close enough to a TV to notice, so the difference in pixel density is negligible. Besides, 4k still isn't being used to it's full potential to be worth the money, when it'll go way down when 4k becomes as standard as 1080p.

40 inch 1080p tv. Everything looks good enough to me, no complaints. No noticeable input lag. I hate monitors and I hate being cramped up in a chair and desk to use them. Yeah, gysync sounds nice, but until they start using it with tv sized monitors, then I'm staying with this.

I'm not trading off the comfort of laying on my bed to play sitting on a chair at a desk because a monitor has a higher resolution or refresh rate. And I'll buy a 4K tv when affordable GPUs can run games at that resolution with ease and OLED tvs aren't ridiculously expensive.

This is the joy that people who bash gaming laptops will never know! Along with the joy of having a 95 degree CPU forced against your thigh for long stretches of time!
