It's been going on since the moment they decided the "NA meta" was "right" and started forcing it as part of the game.
I've been shitting on this game for years but the malzahar rework was the last straw I needed to finally quit for real, it feels great being LoL-free. They ruined all my favorite characters one by one until the point I only had a two or three I actually enjoyed playing left anyways.

Honestly as someone who's played this shit since beta, every single one of their reworks has only made champs more dynamic and less mind-numbingly binary and usually the ones who complain about it are the people who can't handle much more than your typical "point and click" champ of yesteryear.
There's a lot more they could be doing as far as fixing the game goes. No map skins is still pissing me off after the map update. And the fucking client is still a horrendous mess after nearly 7 fucking years. God forbid any of the leadership in Riot Games try to impose some order, priorities, or proper allocation of resources since it takes them forever to get any small changes to occur outside of regular balancing.

In a game of stratagy war tactics should evolve and change over the course of time. In dota from what I played before I quit the Genre for good atleast had variable strats that could be done to counterplay other strats.

I especially hate how they gutted blitzcrank and alistar to force them into the support role and then gutted them again so they can't be effective supports. Dota is BARELY adding LoL features and it's not like they were exclusive to LoL.
The ability scaling from INT is so miniscule but it's still important in that you can clear waves instantly instead of having to auto-attack that last creep on heroes like Lina/Puck/Timber.
It's not like you can just buy INT and have one ability take out half someone's health because you scale that way - unless you're Morphling and then you literally do that already.

The game is tuned around 6 slots. Any less and you won't gain enough power for it to feel like endgame and you won't have room to pick much beyond your cores, and if there are more than 6 you won't really have to make meaningful choices because one more slot for a situational item rounds you out significantly further.
It's really not that hard to just not be a retard.
They've already pushed it as close to more than 6 slots as they ever should by removing consumables and giving wards their own slot.
