It's more progressive left but I know what you mean. As someone who cares about this kind of thing the fact is that "Bedouin warrior women" weren't a thing what do they stand to gain by altering the facts of history to be progressive. There were plenty of females that participated in some way shape or form, including fighting, that they could have depicted, but for some reason they chose to pick the least likely of all of them.
Same with the fella on the the cover art. The Hell fighters were certified bad asses and they have my praise for what they did for their country and their commitments don't get me wrong. However, European colonial/ethnic units did way more dying, so if they want to depict ethnic characters off the bat, why not start with Indians or North African troops.
They didn't even get the guy's uniform right. That has to be what gets me the most. A few seconds on Wikipedia will tell you that they wore primarily French gear including French coats and helmets in fact the mish mash was pretty iconic. DICE does not even attempt to portray the units iconic colors.

First of all the cover is of a DLC that is not in the base game. That would be like The Witcher 3 cover featuring only things from Blood and Wine.
Secondly, this game claims to be historically accurate and the cover is of a black man representing less than one percent of the men fighting in WWI and he is holding a German pistol which is even more confusing.
This is as absurd as if there was a game called Zulu-field 1 and despite 99.9% of the Zulu being normal looking zulu niggas the cover of the game featured an albino zulu holding an Australian officers sword instead of a spear.
