Play as Mercy, as someone that didn't play TF2 you won't try to play her like a Medic.
There might be a slim chance that you, unlike so many others, will realize that your heal beam curves around walls and that your beam is about twice as long as the TF2 Medic beam, meaning you don't have to dance back and forth behind your teammates trying to catch a Hook or a rocket aimed at them.
You might even realize that you can Damage Amp (right click) when someone's not missing any health and that, unlike the TF2 Medic, your health regen isn't tied to your healing beam.
Not only that, but unlike a TF2 medic who tries to sawbones a Spy down, you'll actually know Mercy well enough to realize you can just target another teammate and fly away while your teammates kill that Reaper / Tracer / Genji / Whatever.
Seriously, a well played Mercy is tremendously powerful, a game changer in her own right, and her skills aren't twitch at all; they're entirely planning and positioning; something most FPS players ignore in favor of brute force 'I'll definitely win the twitch coin toss' strategy.

Why does /v/ hate Mei? Is it because you guys can't click the head, can't maintain your ranges, and can't time the ice barrier?
I will say that it's bullshit that her wall got changed to just absorb bullets for x seconds; it used to be that each piece of ice in the wall died after a couple shots so you could actually punch through it quickly but it still did its job of delaying you / absorbing some shots.
Now her wall is kinda OP; all her other shit has counter play, her wall is just some fixed timed thing (her self heal makes her very vulnerable if you're good at video games).
