like, PS2 feels like a Winter console, and Xbox is for the Autumn. but GCN for summer.
Aside from the few winter courses, MK8 has a ton of places that look like they would be amazing to visit during the summer, and a fair bit more tropical/water tracks than most MK games.

There isn't a whole lot of single player content, except for clearing all the GPs on 50/100/150/Mirror/200cc, and playing Time Trials. Most of the game's longevity comes from online play, but the rank system isn't as butt-fuckingly brutal as MKWii's, so it's not as punishing if you lose. And people still play in the /v/ communities so you could always hop into those if you want. Also keep in mind that Battle mode got fucked because they didn't create any new battle stages so you have to play those modes on normal circuits instead of specifically designed battlefields, but if that doesn't bother you, don't let that stop you.
