It amazes me that the designers of this RPG think a million Minigames are fun and/or interesting.
In Earthbound and Persona you could let the characters auto attack speeding things up as the player eventually got tired of most of the fodder fights.
Undertale is a very clever game in that it's not a real JRPG, instead combat is decided by quick dodge/shooting minigames. It's brief, you can beat undertale in an Afternoon.
It takes 4 fucking minutes to end one fight in YIIK what are they thinking?
Why is everyone dick riding earthbound so much over the last couple of years? It was a piss easy game with a one and done little story that really loses the charm if you repeat it too much.
Seriously, the interest strikes me as disingenuous and more like a bunch of people saw how successful undertale was and decided to copy it's influences so they wouldn't be called out on directly ripping off.
