Yes and no.
It should take absolutely 0 effort to make an easy mode. An easy mode hurts no one at all. The only exceptions are games where the difficulty is the entire point, a la Souls games or Ninja Gaiden.
Should content be locked away from Easy mode? Sure. Otherwise there's no reason to play anything but easy mode for completion sake. But the idea that it's "super impossible to balance" between Easy and Hard modes is nothing but bullshit spewed by lazy devs and sycophant faggots.
As for socializing, WoW is perfectly capable of having LFD and LFR continue to exist. Just as long as using the Group Finder tool gives you more rewards and incites you to get out there and meet people over auto-queueing and silently burning a dungeon asocially, I literally do not see an issue with LFD and LFR.
The problem with LFD and LFR are rewards and xrealm queueing. That's literally it. Fix those, and LFD/LFR are good.

I always play as a little boy in games. Most people ignore me... most, but ocassionally I get that one guy who helps me with a quest or something and then starts following me around and asking me questions and shit before eventually trading me a bunch of stuff, sending a friend request and signing off. I know to ignore them now, but I use to accept the request. These guys were always on when I logged in and as soon as I logged in, they'd be all over me, asking how my day was and shit. I'd block them and sign out for a week.
It always makes me feel like shit, but they are just so creepy.

Well, my first one was technically runescape.
Other ones I tried once I got my own computer were Champions online and DC universe, pplus random other free to play shit. The Best MMo I've played is FF14, but the cost of it was getting too high for how little I was playing it after a while. After that I didn't really play anything until about a week ago when I downloaded Aion just to fuck around in. I'm thinking about going back to FF, but I'm not sure. there just doesn't seem to be any MMO that satisfy me the way I want.

You missed it, anon. By a mile. By the time champions online came out, that whole idea of actually interacting with people as if you were in a virtual world instead of ERPing, staying silent or only teaming up had long since passed.
If you're really that into the idea though, you could try a MUD. They're basically MMOs without the graphics, but a more niche playerbase. Hellmoo is one of the better ones available. The playerbase is very much into 'living' in the world without necessarily being creepy RPfags, more just actually having adventures in raping orphans and zombies together and getting interactive with the world.

This is panning out to be false in WoW. Many people are tired of raiding specifically because they raided on the easy mode (LFR) and then say "Well I finished all the raid content in the game. Why would I go to a higher mode just for a few more mechanics?"

Questing and dungeons are primary content too, make them challenging again.

nigga it's not stories I heard, I played Vanilla and that's how it was for the vast majority of people. You saw someone showing off accolades earned by being a top tier player and your innate human narcissism made you want to be that guy too. You wanted to get attention and recognition from shitters in the same exact manner that you were giving it to that guy. The game was worth beating because it was difficult, when you make everyone able to beat it, it's no longer exclusive and no longer worth striving for.
