You are now in charge of an LA Noire sequel/spiritual successor.

Setting?
Story?
How do you fix the mistakes of the first one?

I'd love a modern Police Quest.

Have you seen how much they reproduce? Someone else can deal with them.
>>
Relax the constraints on being able to have fun while not on missions. In the last game, you couldn't do anything but drive around.
>>
>>337686003

It did a lot correct, just make the open world sections have more side shit to do, mini cases and the like. Remove the absolute shit plot twist that was just there to create drama. I'd like to see New York or Chicago when the mafia was big, One good cop in a sea of corruption

All the detective work you do is leading up to the discovery of a cult that worships the Great Race of Yith.
It may or may not be a prequel to pic related.

Make it set in miami in the 80s and have it be an undercover cop game
>>
>>337686003

remove the open world and replace it with a station serving as a hub that allows you to travel to contained areas, like Mass Effect 2

branching storylines based on player performance/investigation quality. players who fail to collect the bare minimum amount of evidence will be sent back by the prosecutor to get more. this allows control over failure states and gives the player choices real weight.

not every case necessarily directly ties to the main story, but they can help you learn background or meet important people

eliminate pointless obligatory warehouse fights where you slaughter 100s of people. could be replaced with smaller scale, more dangerous encounters that are still uncommon.

set in 1970s

multiple protags that work different units for variety

You are constantly switching between the lead investigator, the undercover agents, your partner, and the swat team for a variety of missions.
>large linear almost open world
>tons of destructible interiors for collateral damage
>nightclubs
>abandoned crack apartments
>florida keys
>boat chases

If GTAV proves anything, it's that Rockstar has a huge hardon for Michael Mann, so it's totally possible.

Neo Tokyo Noire. Same mechanics but its set in a cyberpunk future. Either hire Kojima himself or just take cues from Snatcher and Policenauts.

make it that rather than click the response, you mouse-over/hold the button the response is mapped to, which then shows the actual dialogue you will say, and then click X/LMB to conform

also more unlockable outfits and gun skins, most of which are taken from popular scifi franchises
>>

there's already a whole truckload of SHerlock Holmes games though
>>
>>337686003

>setting
Japan, China, Korea, basically Asia, where detectives being bipolar wife-cheaters would be natural
or San Fran

>story
collection of vignette and slice of life cases that were handled by a single detective
or a full Dirty Harry like plot
>how do fix mistakes of first one
be able to see the entire Q&A from start to finish multiple times instead of once and just staring at the questionee at the end
not make it open world
>>
instead of only playing a cop and detective, you now play a middle aged Cole (in his 50's) and become a world class lawyer.

Objections, Dramatic moments, courtroom outbursts, all of it.
>>
>>337688794
Suicide. You had literal billionaires pushing the drug trade on Miami shores at the time, with a huge demand for cocaine (which made little sense with the economy). It was a losing battle.

>mid 50s into the 60s
>main antagonist jack kelso
>secondary antagonist a rookie LAPD patrol cop
>same idea as the first game, you get a series of cases and you solve them as they come
>loosely base a lot of them on real famous crimes, maybe tweak it a bit for legal reasons
>real flexibility is the gameplay itself
>you can buy your own apartment, cars, clothes, guns and customize them with the money you get from cases
>how well you do on the case will decide how much money you make
>bigger free roam with side missions, also can leave LA and travel to LA county, the woods, by the sea
>aside from side missions and cases, the main story is delving into the dirty politics and business deals that ended the first game
>Phelps is alive, maybe a cripple or something, but is in witness protection with the Feds to help investigate all the stuff from the last game
>don't bother with lame cases, we all wanted homicide, sex crimes, missing persons, organized crime. Not traffic cops

that's all I got, im not that creative. I just think we could have fleshed out the game more
>>
>>337691924
*protagonists are jack kelso and the rookie
>>
>>337691901
exactly that would have been the twist. It's all rigged and there's nothing the main characters could do to make a dent in the drug trade regardless. Since most games lean on a political undertone nowadays this ones could be leaning on the decriminalization of drugs and how detrimental to society the war on drugs really is.

>main character is an famous LAPD detective whos solved multiple infamous cases
>hes injured while pursuing a serial killer
>with no other skill sets other than detective work, he becomes a PI for the movie studios
>there he deals with sex scandals, drug deals, crazy celebrities, and elements of organized crime
>all while still pursuing the killer who cost him his career
>its actually a group of killers who are the children of the movie studio execs. who hire him to keep an eye on him

Im undecided about the setting. I think the 40s would be cool for the golden age but its already been done. I don't want it too modern either, it would feel to easy. Probably some choices as well that decide the outcome of the story. different love interests, if you choose to/not choose to follow a lead it can have consequences, you can have multiple safe houses around the city, ect

has there been any actual news on a sequel?
