People wrote it off as a tech demo but I personally feel is has the best 0g FPS combat of all time.

Yeah it was pretty rad. The silent running thing where you could turn off your systems to become undetectable while losing your thruster control was a good idea,too. Being a new MP FPs franchise and requiring Dx10 back then probably was what killed it.

Way before early access. I think the problem was that it had very poor graphics scaling. Nobody with a toaster was able to play it at the time so it just withered and died shortly after release.

Pretty much any of the bygone communities really. I'm biased since that's when I had the most fun but still.
Rune had some great duels similar to JK. Modders in general were so damn creative and fun to talk to and the games were amazing even if they were often patchworks or buggy as hell. I guess I just miss my old life, when I was a pimply sweaty nerd and all my friends were pimply sweaty nerds and we played on gray boxes with CRTs and it was either FPS or RTS. I guess I just don't like change. Hands down best community ever was original Quake. QuakeWorld, Team Fortress...
