I used to play FIFA from 98 up until 2006, I then got back into it with 12 since my mates at uni would play. I'll pirate FIFA but I won't pay for it, haven't got 16 since it hasn't been cracked yet as far as I know.
I was never into PES during the PS2 days but I've tried out the recent ones and it seems much more tactical, problem is none of my friends ever want to play it.

Ultimate team is an online mode where you build your own team with existing players and play different modes, tournaments and divisions.
You have stats and various versions of the players, increasing in rarity and performancejust like a card game.
It's pretty fun.

That is bullshit and you know it. The gameplay is stuck in a 2 year cycle with one year being a broken piece of shit with Pace/Finesse shots and the other being a broken piece of shit with STR/crossings. FIFA is usually never broken in the same way from one year to the other.

i'm terrible at the current fifa for whatever reason and i lost patience with it pretty early, probably play it once or twice a week for 30-45 minutes each.
i hate how you can't adjust the tactics of your team very much, you can just play around with some very basic stuff. but the matches don't feel realistic enough for my autistic ass. the players off the ball are really dumb, the defending controls are wonky as shit.. everything seems to favor dribbling and pace babbies to a ridiculous degree. i know they probably do that to make the game more exciting for 13 year olds but its just awful now.
heard PES is a little better but never really tried it
