PC Build thread?

Building my first PC, any recommendations from what I've gathered so far
Not too bad, but honestly I'd wait until the end of the month and get one of nvidia's new cards.
Still no info on the release date for polaris cards.

Get the unlocked version just so you can overclock in the future
>>337630183
Thanks. Should I get a CPU cooler or is that not needed?
Not too knowledgeable on PC's
If you haven't already ordered your video card, I'd say hold off a little while and pick up a 1070.
>>337630535
I plan on just ordering the Case and Motherboard this weekend, and the rest incrementally as the month goes on.
When does the 1070 release?
>>337630387
Getting an after market cooler like the Cooler Master Evo 212 couldn't hurt. It's only $30 and it will give you all the cooling you'll need for a moderate over clock.
Just get some fans for it that aren't too loud and you're solid. Like I said before though wait for a new card. 1070 might be a bit more than the 390, but it'll be worth the money. Buy once cry once

Evo 212
>>337630387
I would advice in favor of doing it if you think you are gonna tax your machine a lot or live in a hot area. Stock fan is OK but as soon as you begin taxing your machine is gonna struggle.
>>337630615
in like a month, I think
>>337630664
>>337630679
Thanks, I have enough money so I'll buy a cooler I suppose. Better safe than sorry.
>>337630892
how much of a difference will it make? Is it worth the wait?
Also, this might be a retarded question, but could I buy all parts I need (except video card) and have them set up and installed into the case and just be ready once the I get the video card?
>>337631017
It's leaps and bounds better than the 390.
Yes you can. Just hook up your monitor to your motherboard. You'll be running off the integrated card until you installed a dedicated card.
>>337631017
Yes you can do that, and the CPU you're ordering will have decent enough integrated graphics that you could probably play games like CS:GO, TF2 and dota etc. with a smooth frame rate in the meantime.
The 1070 is supposedly stronger than a titan X, for around the same price as a 970 ($380 US dollars)
What should I upgrade?
My current build
>>337631305
Get an SSD and put your OS on it.

Monitor and SSD
>>337631182
>>337631208
Awesome, looks like I'll wait for the 1070. Thanks a lot for the help
>>337631404
To add to this I'm planning on doing a summer upgrade to the 1080, adding an SSD and getting a 1440p monitor and also doubling my RAM to 16gb.
Whenever I have the extra money I'm going to get a new GPU and more RAM.
My 7950 is on it's last legs
Guys?
>>337631769
is it a pre-built because you're probably best starting from scratch
>>337630079
Overpaying.
Skylake is the same price and better.
>>337630361
See above.
>>337631743
Jet has 960s for $150. The dual-fan MSI stays so cool.
Is AMD Zen going to be a meme or the next best thing?
>>337631769
3570ish PCs are super cheap on ebay and can be switched out for the i3 for a server or streaming PC
>that feel when
>tired gamer syndrome
I guess im getting old
:(
What processor can I get super cheap that is AM3+ that can play Overwatch on low settings at good FPS
I don't know why I got an ATX case w/ a micro ATX motherboard

How's mine?
I already plan on upgrading my GPU this summer any other suggestions?
>>337633369
At first I thought this was some ugly diamond shaped tower. Then I realized the photo is just taken at a downward angle from close up on the top corner. Boring.
If I was going to purchase a r9 390, ignoring other cards, which would be best to pick from Asus,si, Gigabyte?
>>337630079
>http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6hdtxr
Pretty good build OP, I only suggest going to 16GB of RAM if you have the money because it isn't much more. Some games are getting close to using all 8GB. This is coming from someone that has a PC business and builds systems constantly.
>>337631769
Just get an used i7 2600k from ebay since you can easily get those for under hundred dollars then just add more ram and swap out the graphics card and power supply and you are all set
>>337633456
I usually always go ASUS, out of all the PCs I have built I have only had one ASUS motherboard DOA. I use ASUS for GFX cards too. I build PCs daily.
I need a new graphics card. What should I get?
Also, I current have 1, 4, 1, 4 for my RAM. Is there any reason I should just go 4 and 4 over keeping what I have?
How stupid is it to buy used processors? I'm always worried the previous owner ran it without a fan or heatsink mining bitcoins 24/7 at 3000°
>>337633739
well you have to say your budget of course.....how the hell are we suppose to know if you don't tell your budget?
>>337633881
Fair enough
We'll say $500.
Got $2k to spend on an entirely new build (literally everything including the monitor) going for 60+ fps. Thinking of going with nvidia + intel this time around since my last build was all amd. What's a good cost efficient combination?
Pretty alright for what it is, though you'd all have a shitfit if you saw what my rig actually looked like.
>>337634367
Wait until June to make the build, go with a i5 6600k with a aftermarket cooler to overclock to 4.5+, go with the GTX 1080, a motherboard preferrably ASUS for around $130-$160, a 600 watt PSU, 500GB SSD and 2TB HDD, you are set bud.
>>337634556
Sounds good to me. I'm in no rush and I'll probably have a larger budget by then.
I'm going for this. Nvidia is cheaper than amd here. Any suggestions?

I'm gonna try out this build, what's your judgement anons?
I'd like to invest maybe 800 canadians dollars, need a new PSU for my new GPU, a new motherboard so it can fit a intel processor and a new hdd. fml
>>337635150
Troll/10
>>337633796
Unless the previous owner did some really whacky shit with the processor it is actually a very smart thing to do since you can get an older generation i7 for next to nothing for the performance they provide when you buy them used
>>337635150

Microsoft Office Professional 2016
>399,99$
hey boss
>>337630079
id drop the mechanical hard drive and use that money to bump up the processor to the 4690k and a little better motherboard. processors generally arent something you upgrade as often as other parts like ram and graphics cards and hard drives, so splurging a little more on the motherboard and cpu would be a better choice. other parts are fine. drop in 8gb more ram when you can a little later on
also not sure on your budget but I would probably wait to get 1070. should blow the 390 out of the water and run a ton cooler in that case because the r4 has relatively bad airflow and the 390 does get quite hot from my experience in that case
Is the 970 to 1080 a good investment?
1080 releases this month right?
