Finally finished the main game and all I gotta say is GOD DAMN that was great stuff.
Also what's a good level to go into Bitterblack isle? I figured I would go in NG+ for the exp you get from the end game.

Do the whole Everfall thing and collect all the wakestones you would need to finish the post-game. But don't use them, but go to BBI. I always thought that the levels, gear and especially all the wakestones prepare you pretty well for the horrors of BBI.

BBI is going to be a challenge but you should be able to make it, especially if you are running a Magick Archer or maybe even a Mystic Knight. Personally I found BBI easier with MA then with MK.

My first time through BBI I used like 40 wakestones since over half the enemies, and literally all the major enemies, have abilities that will kill you in one hit.

Reminder that there are only two areas in this game that are properly fleshed out, interesting, and satisfying and neither is a part of the main game.

I loved the gameplay and the story was ok but this game was disappointing and a total waste of potential.
I don't even play DD anymore, but I boot it up multiple times a week just to see how my pawn is doing.I've made it in the top 100 two months in a row and have some 5 million riftstones.

Anon, in all those you start a new game with a new character. Which you can do in DD as well. But in those you can't farm the final boss of the dlc area multiple times for loot.
And before you say:

Well, yes, but not to the fullest extend. I did seven full playthroughs of DD and in all I experimented with different combinations of arisens and pawns. You can only do a full warrior playthrough once and it will be a vastly different experience than just doing all classes for some time.

DD is an arpg. The whole killing enemies is the center of the game. Personally I killed Daimon 2.0 several times because I wanted to, I had fun going through the different levels of BBI because I liked the gameplay and it's satisfying to get some good gear at the end for it. But comparing all this to story-driven games like PS:T and Deus Ex is just silly.

I went in at level 60 before I finished the main game and it felt right. It made for a nice challenge but I felt way too overleveled for the main game when I returned. Personally, I would finish the main game first but save a good amount of wakestones you get in Everfall because they will come in handy.

It really depends on how well they're trained. I've had strider pawns who just roll and fire their pea shooter bow and it's really annoying. However, better strider pawns will use skull splitter and thousand kisses while climbing for ridiculous damage.And if you give them maxed out rusted bows that inflict torpor on enemies like I did, they become even more devastating

Love the game but man the whole BBI being super hard was a bit exaggerated, it was somewhat challenging but I absolutely destroyed Matt Daimon on my first run through of it. Maybe it was because I had a great /vg/ pawn setup at the time, still had a ton of fun and ended up slaying Daimon like 40+ times. I hope it ends BC on the one so I can do another playthrough
