Hey /v/. I just started playing Dark Souls for the first time. I never really got on the Dark Souls band wagon but now that Dark Souls 3 has came out I decided I wanted to see what all the hype was about so I went back and played the first one. I don't know where this game has been my whole life. It brings back that element of mystery that most game lack these days. It doesn't hold your hand and give you objectives or quests and if you don't go the right way or talk to the right people you might miss the whole pint of the game. The game is hard but it never feels like a cheap death, it always feels like your fault. Not to mention the innovative (if sometimes slow) multiplayer and classic RPG elements. In conclusion Dark Souls is now one of my favourite games, I'll probably play all the other ones and I understand the hype for a game I used to dismiss.

I'm there with you senpai. I'm at the Tomb of Giants after finishing up Seath and then the Catacombs. I am WAY over leveled for this place. +15 large club is disgusting.

I first started playing last month and 100%/ platinum trophy'd it I loved it so much. First playthrough took me 60 hours, but it's really amazing how once you know the in's and out's of each area how much time you can shave off. NG+ only took me 8 hours.

Did you get the blue skull thing from the other hollows on the bridge? Just use them to lure the boat to the fire, he will die quickly or just backtab him in the assasstab him

Just use the bonfire to warp back, nerd.
Arty is pretty tough, but you really have to remain aggressive, roll into his attacks, stay about three meters from him and punish his attacks when he whiffs. As each 1/3 of his health goes, he'll try to roll back and buff. Your instinct is to heal but fucking don't, rush up and wail on him, he'll get stunned and won't buff.

If you headshot him with a bow when he's buffing, it'll stun him out of it instantly.

You can beat most small enemies with the following strategy:
Let them close the distance and once they start attacking, immediately backstep and follow with a series of light attack that stunlocks them to death. This is a particularly good way of killing the sword knights in the parish, but is less effective on the rapier variant.
