I start
Well, not exactly hate.
Pokémon Conquest
Anything by Swery.
>>337601478
>>337601723
did journos hate these two?
They were mostly just ignored.
Killer is Dead.
>>337602620
Nier got rekt in my country for being "repetitive" and they were ranting about the protag not being likeable enough lol
>>337601478
It's a shame, but considering that Nier doesn't come into its own until you realize 60% of quests are a waste of time and you have to win it three times to get the full experience, the odds weren't in its favor in the critic's circle.
>>337602542
Second season when?
Shake shake~
not hated, just no one cared

reviewers are shit at games that arent cookie-cutter
>>337604325
Did it not do well? Mischief Makers is at the core of my nostalgia.
>>337602889
>Papa Nier
>Not a lovable moron
Nigga wut
>>337601478
I like that they pretend to like Nier now that the sequel is coming out and will probably be great.
>>337604946
To be fair, it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out the trick to that fishing game, considering the in-game instructions don't tell you.
Half the humor from that quest line comes from the characters being self-aware of how terrible it was.
I really don't get the hate for this game.
>>337601478
I feel like I'm literally the only person on /v/ who loves this game. I had many great moments with it.
>>337602542
Man, I fucking loved Deadly Premonition in all it's terribleness
>>337601478
I like Nier but it's not surprising that they hate it. You literally have to beat the game about six fucking times to get the true ending. That's just dumb design.
>>337604248
>>337602542
You guys played Spy Fiction? It's also by Swery, one of the favorite PS2 games.
>>337605626
if he was doing any of the other fishing quests that'd be true, but the first one puts the X right on the beach, all he had to do was look at the map for 5 seconds.
>>337604248
Back in November Swery said that he had some illness or something that prevented him from working, but that also basically confirms that Season 2 is still being made
>>337601723
I honestly don't understand why Dragon's Dogma doesn't have the same kind of Following Dark Souls has.
The game has a couple rough edges, sure, but outside of those it's an all-around stellar RPG and Action game
>>337608052
Cause there's no sequel. Dark souls had 1-3, demon souls and bloodborne
I love jap games, but most jap companies refuse to pay off western "journalists" to shill for them.
>>337608052
clumsier pacing and lack of a gimmick like "u will die hardest gaem evur XD"
I have no clue what the marketing was for dragon's dogma, but if they didn't capitalize on the fact that you can be a hammer-swinging loli that can end up in a relationship with literally any npc in the game, then they failed
>>337605626
>could not do the fishing minigame for shit
>time skips to a few days and does it for me
>Weiss mentions that it only took them only +100 tries
fuck that minigame though
>>337608363
capcom has terrible marketing so most people just assumed it was some crappy dark souls clone
>No games that are actively hated by the journalist hivemind
bad thread desu
>>337608773
>just assumed it was some crappy dark souls clone
Said nobody ever.
>>337608363
That would be pretty much the worst marketing ever.
>>337603853
>60% of quests are a waste of time
>missing all that banter and world-building
I rushed the game in 6 hours to get the achievement before I platted it, skipped almost every non-essential fight and every quest and the game was downright barren. Without the quests it felt like nobody knew each other and they had no reason to care if anything happened.
>>337602542
To be fair it's really understandable why not only critics but also people in general would dislike Deadly Premonition. It requires a specific mindset to enjoy as intended and really is one of those classic examples of "more than just sum of its parts" deals.
>>337609172
I can't account for your terrible taste, anon
>>337604446
>solatorobo
underrated as fuck quality game. and then dismissed on the grounds of being a furry game by some.
>>337608052
Dragon's Dogma doesn't have any longevity. Once you've done everything you've done everything.
>>337604248
I'd love to see the continuation of this but I swear to god if the killer ends up being David fuck you
Kinda off topic but I was worried about the movie Memento pulling that shit as well but instead it was way more clever, I would like to see something like that with D4 too.
Binary Domain. It wasn't really hated, because critics nowadays don't dare hate anything with any budget behind it unless they're riding a popular bandwagon, so much as it was simply written off as an uninspired TPS without personality when pretty much the opposite is true. Only problem I had with that game were shoddy VA commands, but they're completely optional.
>>337601478
Just started playing this. Enjoying it, but how the fuck do I fish? I can never catch fucking anything and when I do, it's just a boot or can or something.
>>337610137
you gotta be in the right place, using the right bait, and the tugs on your line are the tell if it's a fish or trash. As you go completing the fishing quests you start dealing far more damage and you'll be pulling most fish in a matter of seconds.
Generally, if you get one small tug, a pause, and then a big pull, it's trash.
If you're looking for the shaman fish, you have to go to the beach after the cave tunnel in seafront, the general area is marked on your map. Use the lure, no need to buy bait for now. For other fish, it's best to use a guide.
>>337606238
Came here to post this. I only bought it because it was on sale for $5 on 360, and even there it's a really amazing game.
Sure you can see the recycled content from games like Driver and Assassin's Creed but it's still top notch.
Really looking forward to a Watch Dawgs 2 on this year's E3.
>>337601478
anything with him in it
>>337611057
Because WD is a fucking wasted opportunity and deserves to be forgotten among other mediocre titles. Game shines when you're actually doing sneaking missions and hacking people between stealthy takedowns. it simply wasn't a good fit for a GTA clone because hacking elements don't really gel with the formula in any significant fashion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scpPF7S9TRA
>>337609489
That's from an early version of the game, right?
>>337601478
Hate would need acknowledgement in the first place.
>>337611226
I beg to differ. You take out the GTA elements and you turn it into a Metal Gear Solid clone, which isn't really well regarded because of it's gameplay.
Just cut it some slack, it's the first game on its series. It might even evolve into an even more realistic sandbox game now that GTA steered its way into an MMO grindfest and Saints Row is pretty much a Prototype/Infamous kind of game now.
>>337606238
>another fucking ubisoft 'open world' game
You'd have to be retarded to not get why people hate this shit
>>337608052
There's no online
