A lot of people who got into comics in the last few years think Disney is the one making their comics pretty bad lately, but Marvel has always been that way, literally since the beginning. Stan Lee was the king of cross-media pandering, in the early 60's he moved out to California because he thought all of Marvel's comics had way better potential as movies and shows, so he spent several years fruitlessly shilling his properties until finally it paid off with the Hulk TV show, and then they proceeded to milk Hulk in the comics for all he was worth.
If they made an MvC4 it would be almost entirely movie characters, minus the X-Men except Wolverine, and maybe a couple fan-favorite characters like Moon Knight just so they can say "look we're not jerking off the movies, honest!"
Marvel are a bunch of serious shills and their good comics have always been good in spite of that.

Fucking Marvel over is a good reason in their eyes. Why else do you think they haven't let the rights go back after several failures? They even knew that the latest movie was going to be a disaster before it hit cinemas.
Also now that Sony got a sweet deal to get Spider-Man into the MCU they may also be hoping to do the same with F4.

That's stupid and so are you. X-men has been Marvel's highest grossing comic brand since the 90s, and Deadpool is currently running the main Avengers team. 3 years ago "Avengers vs X-Men" was the main crossover comic event at Marvel.

Seems like a matter of time at this point. They either give up or Marvel takes them to court for tarnishing the brand for so long. Assuming Marvel cares, I suppose. They aren't even using them in comics anymore.

F4 is not a book anymore. Its characters are either split among unrelated books, or out of the picture altogether.
Wolverine is dead, Prof X is dead, i think even Cyclops is dead. A recent story was written pretty much to undo the whole mutant rebirth from AvX's ending, and Marvel is now trying their hardest to install the Inhumans as their replacement in preparation for their MCU introduction.
And of course Deadpool is still featured. It has been its own book for years and the movie only served to boost its popularity. He's even showing up in the shameless rehash that's CW2.
