It's kind of sad that after all those failures, this is the one that finally gets it right. We live in a world in which the Ratchet and Clank movie sucks, but the Angry Birds movie is funny and clever.
>>337571767
why isn't stuff like the Persona 3 movies there?
DooM is seriously underrated. It's no masterpiece or anything but at least it doesn't take itself too seriously and is just good popcorn entertainment.
>>337572773
that can be said about most of the movies on that list. Doesn't make them good.
>>337572654
Because even Adam sandler movies will be taken more seriously than anything anime unless it's something from Ghibli
>>337572990
shame, the first Persona 3 movie is better than anything on that list
>>337571767
>List doesn't include Uncharted
Why?
>>337571767
>gets it right
>two birds swap-gargle eagle's piss water
That's a generous assessment.
>>337571767
The second Resident Evil CGI movie is better than any of these and not even on the list.
>>337571767
That's because most film critics don't play games, only mobile stuff, and are familiar with angry birds, resulting in a positive bias.
>>337571767
But Ratchet and Clank was actually decent. Not good but it definitely deserved more than a fucking 16.
>>337572654
>>337573234
They weren't released theatrically in the US and don't have reviews listed on Rotten Tomatoes.
>>337571767
>Fuck you I liked it!
I liked FF Spirits Within. I'm aware of the beautiful computer generated graphics and the computer generated script
Silent Hill, Need for Speed, and Ratchet & Clank were all pretty good movies.
Street Fighter and Super Mario bros were both fun because of how bad they were.
The first few Resident Evil films are meh at worst by action flick stanards.
Angry birds has no real story.
So its essentially just another 3d cg movie that simply took the characters and the name from the game and made up some random story that kids and normies would like.
Reminder that the Angry Birds movie is a social commentary on the current refugee crisis in Germany
>>337571767
>no ace attorney movie
shit list

>>337573082

>>337573596

>>337571767
Sonic was though
>>337571767
>rotten tomatoes
>>337571767
But Mortal Kombat was good.
>>337571767
>Angry birds movie
>caters to kids/mothers
>ratchet and clank movie
>caters only to fans who played the games
>angry birds billion dollar kid app
>ratchet and clank some ps2/ps3 game? (millennials don't know what it is they started on ps3)
take a guess why genius
>>337574175
Honestly, it would be a complement for naughty dog. They seem pretty adamant on trying to make movies.
>>337571767
it was probably just a stock kids movie but they put angry birds paint on it
>>337574264
did you cry because of the story, or because of how bad it was?
>>337574713
story
i cry over everything though
>>337575167
its ok man. i cried at the end of Bravely Second withAgnes asking if she could take Tiz's name
just don't cry in public or i'll have to bully you
>rotten tomatoes
Anyway, every movie based off video game sucks and will suck. Movies have lower level of interaction than games. It's much easier for books to be actually decent.
>>337571767
why doesn't uwe boll understand hes making shit movies
he has made so many its incredible
does he have billions and billions to throw away in production values or what
>>337575734
Mortal Combat was good.
>>337575850
Who's Uwe Boll and what is his significance?
>>337576017
he made many of the movies you see in that list
his significance is he ruined videogame movies for way too long
>>337576017
German director/producer who sees video games as an easy, pre-written, pre-marketed and pre-directed source material for awful adaptations. He abuses German tax laws that allow filmmakers to write off production costs. Through magical accounting and German taxes, he makes money off of cinematic failures and thus puts no effort into it.
>>337572773
No it isn't; it has fuck all relation to the games (main series or even 64) and doesn't come close to the spirit of Doom (cutting through vast swarms of monstrosity's from hell) with a metal/dark ambience background
>>337571767
It's for kids, so reviewers automatically give it a pass.
Such a blatant and soulless cash grab of a movie should be vilified, but ultimately most reviewers on RT are fucking hacks on random blogs or crappy newspaper "entertainment" writers.
>>337576718
This.
I only visit sophisticated aggregate review sites with real reviewers like IMDB.
>>337571767
Assassin's Creed will probably be the best games adaptation. Not too attached to the original story or premise or characters, but taking all the cool ideas from the originals.
I liked Prince of Persia, not great by any means but pretty enjoyable by blockbuster action film standards.
>>337574173
The mother bird does indeed look a lot like the Merkel, though.
>>337575850
Postal was alright
Probably the most faithful to the source material adaptation on the whole list
>>337575850
Germany used to have extremely loose standards when it came to giving away huge sums of money for people to make movies with. He is literally the sole reason that law was changed.
