EA, mostly. Best MMO I ever played but it didn't get the support it deserved after EA saw a drop in player numbers after the first month.

Also fights and gameplay were a little clanky, not awfull but still problematic for a PvP oriented MMO.
Great game let down by EA.
1. Released game in beta graphics (as in, no high settings available on release, no graphic options at all iirc)
2. Released game with like 2 or 3 classes missing.
3. Released game with barely any animations per class. My Witch Hunter did 3 animations and they were shit.
4. Released the game with only one main city per faction (not so bad, it's not like it worked for WoW at the time)
5. Released the game 2 weeks prior to WotlK talent patch (so everybody went back to WoW to try it)
6. Didn't encourage the best part; PvP, enough.
7. Bugs galore.
8. No end game.
9. Fucked up class ideas (Swordmasters were Tanks, not DPS for example)

Bright Wizards were indeed OP trash, but at the same time I haven't found a class in an mmo as thematically cool as BWs

The idea of the tier system was broken at max level. It just encouraged everyone on the server to all go to the same spot and form massive server crushing blobs. They also ruined the game by putting in a second door and letting some classes walk through it.

I remember witches being OP as fuck, black orcs literally immortal, same goes for those dwarf tanks, and later on knights of the blazing sun joining the party of OP fucks.
Game was pushed out noticeably incomplete and couldn't hold on to many of the people looking to jump off from WoW at the time. Would have been excellent if it had been left in the oven for another year, it was a ton of fun even before a lot of its problems got sorted out. But it never really hit the population numbers it needed to sustain itself (especially in Tiers 2 and 3), and it just atrophied after that. Yet another game ruined by EA incompetence.

Human/Chaos was easy, T1 at least, you just had to have one of each of your faction's race stand on the appropriate pedestal (they had illustrations) There was a vampire bitch inside that dropped nice gear
Still remember it was a lot of fun to play one of the classes that could knock people away, like a guardian something, and you ran around on that pvp battleground map with lava and just kept knocking people into it, like 2 or 3 at a time sometimes.
And they couldnt crawl out in time.

i was more hyped for this game than i should have been. for me it was a ton of little things that went wrong. Missing classes, the choppy animation at a distance, the fact that cast bars and animations didnt match up with what was actually happening like you could get interrupted and still appear to be casting.
They should have waited until it was finished to release it.

This isn't quite true.
Witchelves and Witch Hunters were the only classes that had parity on both sides.
Black Orc was as killable as anything else, just put a Bright Wizard on him. Bright Wizards had a bug that did all the frontloaded damage of their dot up front, and then still dotted afterwards. You're nuts if you think this meant they didn't do damage.
Additionally, their morale abilities meant that even if you were their counter class (i.e. Witch Elf) and even if you got the jump of them, there was only a 50% chance that you would be able to kill them. Most times you'd get stunned, knocked away, and then melted like every other class.
BWs were 99% of the reason why Order was broken as fuck. War Priest and IBs were the last 1%.

It was one of those beautiful few games where the PvP wasn't just fun but actually viable to jump into. No other MMO can boast that, you get fucking crucified for even queuing if you're not already perfectly built and twinked for pvp, and God help you if you ask how you're supposed to do that without getting to play pvp.
The single player was a lot of fun as well, the questing was simple but drew you in well. I actually bothered to read quests even after I'd stopped doing that in WoW ages ago
All the classes were entertaining to play, and none of them made you feel like you weren't contributing.

WE VS WH: WH fucked because they had to stack BOTH ballistic and melee skill meaning their stat distribution was fucked. Also WH finishers did literally less damage WE ones.
BO VS SM: BO superior in literally every single way, every single ability did more damage, generated more threat, were more tanky, and did more damage
SW VS SH: SH had fuckloads of burst and a pet that could take cloth classes down by itself if left alone. SW had absolutely fucking NOTHING, stances of which only skirmish was even halfway useful and even then it didn't matter because lol charge.

You're insane. Chosen was good but was never OP. The only time they we OP was pre-Ravage and Rending Blade nerfs and only on Dead spec Chosen. At which point they were nerfed FAST. I've never seen something nerfed so quick. But WPs and BWs remained untouched until the game died. And KotBS was not worse than Chosen as a tank. If anything they were a little better.

Yes and no. DAoC tanks didn't have stuff like collision detection and Hold the Line. But they had other things like Guard, Protect, Intercept, Body Guard, Slam, snares, and a bunch of mitigation oriented abilities, RAs, ML, weapon/armor procs/charges, and other stuff. To this day DAoC still have the best class, combat, and PvP systems.

Even with one more year in development I doubt that the game would have been that much better.
It had many basic problems. One huge problem was that there were only two factions available and not at least 3. If one side had more players than(or then not sure) the other side they had zero chance in open world pvp.

The game itself, while flawed, was still extremely fun, and some of my fondest MMO and PvP memories across any game comes from WAR
I would play RoR if they had instant 40, or at least vastly accelerated leveling rates, because FUCK leveling. Just like live in that t2 and t3 are absolute ghost towns, too.

Not him but my guild and I had an amazing defense of a fort in Orc country. This was pre-fort change and the only way to the top floor was a horribly designed, amazing to defend killing field.
Our guild was primarily dwarves. We had about 4 Ironbreakers hold the line at the top. The rest of us, including healers, rained down on them. There was about 13 of us that held of about 24 enemies. That hold the line was pretty much inpenetrable. God damn that shit was fun.

The bonus was allowing me to pick one recruit a friend reward per character I made. Could also pick some other stuff I dont rememeber all I can remember were the mounts, pets, and a choice of white or black dye in infinite quantities.

Nerf Sorc and BW's AOE and DoT damage.
Nerf Magus and Engineer damage.
Nerf ALL tanks damage.
Buff WH/WE damage.
Nerf WP/DoK Healing.
Severely buff WP Damage.
Nerf Guard to 35-75% split instead of 50-50% split.
Remove or restrict talisman and potion buffs to appropriate content. Nearly 900 bonus armor at T1 because your main gave you armor talis is fucking insane.
Implement population restriction forcing the game to remain at 50% faction balance at all tiers. If you're over that population for that level, you can't go in RvR or que for scenarios.
Add boiling oil siege weapon.
Severely increase rates of leveling or add instant max level option.
