>>

>>337565445
There is no alternative. The only other way would be to forcibly take control over it, and decide what the population can and can't do, government tells you what is good for you and what is not. You can say then, well if what they government says I can't do is actually bad for me, it's alright, but it still robs you of the freedom of choice. We have that now, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, this skins shit, and no one can tell you not to do it, and that also means you are responsible for the damage you cause yourself, not the one who distributes your personal drug. Therefore, yes, the way it stands today, it is the fault of the "players", the users. Stating it's "predatory" by companies to maximize profit because some people are stupid is an inane comment and cannot change anything, people must say no and by saying no the company will have to do something else. I don't know of any third way, but as it is these are the two to pick from and there's positives and negatives to both. What >>337565243 said is objectively true.

The entire video was hamfisted and out of place.

You couldn't gather that from the 2spooky music, disembodied voices of people saying nothing relevant, and the forced "I just took an Intro to Humanities class at my local community college" mythology?

The video is so edgy and try-hard I had to squint just to watch it.
>>
>>337566076
The whole thing is laughably pretentious.
It plays creepy background music while having some faglord tell some ominous story about narcissus as if opening a case in csgo is the road to hell. As if spending petty cash on stupid micro transactions is equitable to a fucking crack addiction.

>Crying about streamers/youtubers dropping thousands upon thousands of dollars on case openings

For the $200 they drop on a case opening, they make $500 back in ad rev.

You know this instantly when you see someone like Kootra mentioned in this shit and how after an entire year of no real drops, with an estimated $10k wasted, he still decides to do it week after week. Its the same with Phantoml0rd, he's got more money than you can imagine, and he's spending it to make more.

The issue lies with kids who even after seeing people fail constantly, still want to drop money into a completely chance system. It gets even worse when they're using roulette systems. That has nothing to do with the people making these videos though. Because its not their money, or they've just entered the real world with an addiction to this shit which was allowed by their parents giving them money to buy keys constantly.

The rise of social media and the fact that cameras are on everything these days, beg to differ.
>>
SO want prevents you people for making shit for the TF2/CSGO workshop and make mad dollars?
>>
No. The one things that killed TF2 is the trading. Not the hat. The hat are nice, cosmetic are nice and welcome into a games like TF2.

Trading killed tf2 because now it's all key / metal, if i want a hat i have to pay metal and not pay with a hat the other side's like because "It has no value on backpack.tf"

i wish Valve destroyed trading by making all hat droppable again and making it so you win a hat if your team has a victory. Not too hard to do, considering how much cosmetic item there is in TF2, it would push people to win for their hat.

Just likes rocket league.

I'm not really sure why anyone would take exception to valve's method of utilizing micro transactions. It is probably the most fair and ethical way to do it.

Their base games are either cheap or free, and without putting any cash shop money in you have the same gameplay experience as anyone else. Buying items can't give you an advantage competitively, so you only have to do it if you want. Valve makes a lot of money from people with disposable income who like buying virtual items, and they get to use a portion of that income on free content updates that all players get to enjoy. If some saudi prince buying 5000 hats is the reason I still get tf2 updates a decade later, then I hardly see what the problem is.

But they have never been good game developers in the first place. You can't call Half-Life a good videogame with a straight face.

They have been and still are good, however, with earning dollars and making clever business decisions. A good Quake mod? Hire creators. Well-balanced Half-Life mod? Hired. Blizzard is shitting on its cool W3 mod? Fuck it, we will hire this designer. Their best games are not theirs per se.

I play CS GO a lot, and TF2 casually and I can tell you millions of people think like this. I've bought a total of one "crate" key in like 3 years which was one too many. Now I sell every drop I get in game + trading cards from games to get money off vidya.

I'll tell someone to try out a cool game on sale for like 3 euro and they'll go "ehhh too much" yet every single week they'll go ahead and buy key after key, continually getting absolutely fuck all and still throwing money at the system. It's unbelievable, people just sit for ages unlocking cases because that's fun to them, people sit on twitch streams watching other people gamble money for textures.

I have never ever bought a key or crate nor have I ever traded for open or opened one and I intend to keep it that way, the whole system is just off-putting to me.

Same could be said of any company that has been around long enough. Goals of most companies and corporations has always been profit.

Most of the money I spent was MINE, others were Valve Gift Cards given to me as christmas/other holiday gifts.

I don't want a game designed from the ground up to optionally drain my blood for all I'm worth. Your passivity has moved once-native features of games into optional content locked behind pay walls and I fucking hate you.

Am I the only one who freaked out out when valve introduced skins to counter strike ?

I remember there was literally no apparent reaction on the internet.

I don't remember Bright Hot Pink or Neon Green being part of TF2's color palette at all so no you are wrong at least there

Clothes and fashion are respectable. Virtual knives aren't, autist.

Let me guess, you are voting for Trump right? It would explain the double-digit IQ and intense delusions.

Pretty good because i make money with it.
Valve only makes prices for keys, and that's it. Everything else, from the 0.03 throwaway skin to the 1k+ Bayonet skin is what people in the community pay for it.

Not really, the whole point of hats is just to affect the overall silhouette as little as possible.

You would know this if you actually played the game.

CS:GO wasn't that popular at the time.

And they didn't affected the game itself, why should anyone care?

Ah, so a shitposter then. Instead of countering my arguments, you start to scream nonsensical shit that has nothing to do with the subject at hand. Typical drone faggot.
