I never played oldschool doom, but the game isn't bad imo. It's very fast paced, you have to keep moving or you'll get overrun very quickly. The guns are all good for different things and the secrets are still pretty hard to find even with a map. Overall its a very different SP experience than any of the other Doom titles, even 3, but its still very good over all. If you really have reservations about forking over your money for it a steam sale is probably gonna be your best bet to getting this game for cheap thanks to denuvo.
