Valve server teams will happily kick their team's carrier just because someone started a vote and the F1 key is easy to press.

All in all the vote system fucking sucks. The vote only passes if half the server votes yes, it doesn't matter how many 'no' votes there are.
A non-vote is a no-vote in this case. Why even have a vote for no?

Valve servers are good if you go in after the kids have gone to sleep and the good players have come back from work.
I'd say 18-23 is your best time for tolerable Valve server gameplay.
