Nvidia's higher clocks and memory frequencies mean better effect performance. AMD's larger GPUs mean that they handle larger static scenes.
The R9 380X in that graph does fucking amazing for the price if you look at where the HD7970 stacks up. Beat the R9 290X, R9 390, GTX780, and GTX770. Its also within spitting distance of a hugely overclock GTX780Ti

Funny thing, AMD cards is the only way to play this game. nVidia driver or game code is abysmal, AMD 390 can give you almost maxed out at 60, or 30 with upscaling disabled, but nVidia cards struggle even with upscaling and driver crashed constantly
