If I were you, I wouldn't worry about getting your 230 relic asap unless you're pushing Savage progression. Simply doing your dailies will get you it eventually. Also, don't neglect your weekly Crystal Tower runs. The 220 weapon from Sephirot, or your 220 relic if you've gotten that far, will suffice.
There's just too little need to gear yourself asap in this game to worry about doing so.

I used to do Savage progression until real life forced my group to fill the spot I left open, so I'm still in that "gotta get gear quick" mindset like I'm in the first stage of denial. I have my anima relic and two oils already from esoterics and Crystal Tower weekly. Official forums aren't necessarily shit other than the fact they're official forums. Many casual players go to talk about the game there, and complain about shit they have no right to complain about. Surprised you didn't like WAR or SCH, they're generally considered the most fun Tank/Healer respectively
BLM is kinda passive overall. The class gets easier to play the higher level it is when it's the opposite for the others. Enochian kinda makes it more involved but that becomes muscle memory very quickly.
Melee DPS are a bit more involved, MNK and NIN in particular.
You also vastly underestimate how good exp is now, between armory bonus being 100% up to 50 and the buff to dungeon exp, combined with your daily roulettes and HW beast tribes trivialize leveling quite heavily.
You could gain 1 full level per day at 50+ by doing level 50 (which gives exp now), leveling and trial roulettes, along with 6 HW beast tribe quests (which scale EXP to your level rather than being fixed like the ARR ones).

Start by unlocking all of the crafting classes, next you want to look at your list of craft you can make and see which materials you need, the with the gathering classes/ fighting classes you collect them or buy them from the market place, starting materials are cheap as fuck.
Get all crafts to 15 for the cross skills and then focus on one, you will get x2 or x3 exp everytime you make a new craft from your list, also buy the scrolls from your company, they give you a fuck ton of exp, combine that with food and you'll get a good start

It's definitely worth it for only one playthough, story is fun and you have enough things to do, once you reach endgame you farm a bit and then quit. Game sells for cheap most of the time, I think there is a 14 day demo as well so you might want to try that out first before buying

You have to snipe new players.
And I mean really snipe them. Don't be a fag and spam invite, talk to the shits, make them feel good, once they're in offer to help them any way you can. The process will take time and you'll have plenty of flubs but eventually it will become self sustaining.
Trying to recruit end game players is never going to work because they're likely looking for shit you can't offer. So go after those who you CAN make feel obligated to stay.

I like emin's bantz personally. There's always some drama every once in a while and there's always got to be a "that guy" in every guild. We've survived ippiki and mango sentinel though, and we still manage to get new people every once in a while, so the fc isn't dying yet. It helps that 3.2 raiding is pretty good. I do wonder how we get new people that aren't referrals though. We're still in the xivg pastebin, but nobody in the fc really posts there anymore for obvious reasons.
