Lightning is bottom of the fucking barrel in terms of design, personality and character progression. At lease Tidus fucks off forever until he returns in a contrived manner. Lightning literally breaks the surly bonds of Playstation to become a real girl. FF13 was listless waifu pandering to a stick figure with the emotional range of cheese. Tidus and the narrative surrounding him, while basic, offered much more.
And Blitzball was fun.
