This game was amazing aside from all of the all of those people who made "emo" sackmen.

Will there ever be a sandbox game to come close to competing with it?
>>
>dem floaty jumps

nope, just nope, fucking trash game
>>
>>337495226

Nah, unless Media Molecule themselves do it.

The Vita version was good, and that was done by Tarsier Studios.
>>
>>337495226
yeah it was fun.
I played the first one and the PSP version.
>>
>>337496668

LBPVita would be the biggest reason for me to buy one. You can play LBP2 levels on it right?
>>
>>337495226
Mario Maker
>>
Garry's Mod
>>
Do these games have any challenge? I played one once and didn't see a single enemy or hazard, just really easy puzzles.

Is LBP3 worth it for £7?
>>
>>337496857

Sorry mate, but Mario Maker is a flash game compared to LBP.

I don't like the new ones. The first one was amazing

At least is a good platform game.

>3 comes out with new characters
>now costume pieces are divided between them
>>
>>337497018
They aren't really meant to be all the challenging, though the gameplay has gotten a lot more involved with each iteration with new power ups and gameplay additions. LBP3 is definitely a great game to get cheap.
>>
Will the franchise be able to redeem itself after how fucking shit LittleBigPlanet 3 was?

Giving him friends was such a stupid idea.
>>
LBP needed less floaty jumps and a better interface. But I loved the aesthetics of the game.

Oddly enough, it would've been a perfect WiiU game. Level building is much better suited to something like the gamepad.
>>
>>337497629
You keep saying this in every thread but it's really a nonissue. I think you're assuming it's worse than it is. Costumes for the new characters are usually only made with their body types in mind, i.e. Oddsock getting quadrupedal animal suits and Toggle getting dwarf and ogre outfits. Sackboy has far and away the most costume pieces available, not even including the plethora of DLC. With the additions of Sackbot animators and rotators and a sticker creator there has literally never been a better LBP to make costumes in.

tl;dr you're being retarded
>>
What's your favorite costume? mine is Judge Dredd
>>
>>337497018
There's a tag that you can search through that's literally "Challenging". I'll recommend Midas Torment and Snakes, although they are a little gimmicky.

Also I'm shilling the Deliver Us from Eve levels because I love them and wish it was an entire game.
>>
>>337498687
The Back to the Future costumes.
>>
>>337497823
So what's the point then?

Not trolling, genuinely curious.
>>
>>337498798
Playing interesting levels others made and Platforming. It's cool playing RTS and RPGs while knowing this was supposed to be a cute 2D platformer.

There's tons of levels out there and MM picks great ones to feature.
>>
>>337498687
Probably the Ghostbuster one.

Jeeze, I probably sank another forty bucks into that game for DLC/costumes alone. I remember the when they added water, and that was a huge deal.
>>
>>337499471
>tfw they finally added placeable water material to 3

Feels good man. I have so much fucking DLC from across all 3 games that there's more I have than don't have. Thank god it's all backwards compatible.

It was nice, but anything after lbp2 was shit. Played it a bit when i was younger, it was the only game i could really just build whatever it wanted, even share it on the moon system they had going.

>user levels from 1 and 2 were thought out and only the best ones were in the popular section
>start playing 3's custom levels
>little kids with horrible spelling and grammar everywhere
>five nights at freddies, smosh, and youtube bullshit all over the most hearted section
>copy pasted levels with one minor alteration
>levels consist of kids speaking into the mic treating the level like a youtube video with "R-REMEMBER TO UH LIKE FAV AND SUBSCRIBE GUYS!"
>>
>>337499940
Yeah, that's what made those games good. Had it required you to re-buy shit over and over again, that would've killed the franchise faster than LBP3 did.

And it must be said, that Factory of a Better Tomorrow theme is one of the best pieces of video game music I've ever heard.

LBP had fantastic music.
>>
>>337500693
LBP feels like the MLP of video games, at least when it comes to Sony ip's because of Sonic, FNAF, MineCraft and all those series out there.
>>
>>337500693
I'm so glad I stopped playing LBP before 3 came out.
>>
>>337496806
Non I don't think you can play lbp2 pecked on it but it did have a system for saving progress in levels that lbp2 didn't have

Look at Dreams. It's like lpb but in 3D and you're given total freedom (maybe a little too much freedom? idk) I am really hyped for it.

>>
>>337501827
I've bought every single game they made. Dreams looks kind of cool. I may wait for reviews or a sale though. Especially after that burn with both Tearaways.
>>
Is there a story character you liked in the series, besides Eve?
>>
>>337501827
it looks awful. The content created will either look nice yet have no functionality, be half-assed and broken, or just a bunch of dicks.

I really enjoyed how depressed Clive was all the time.

Also, wondering why he built a giant mechanical turkey.

I was half interested in the game but I remember all you did was unlock cosmetics for the sprite you play as and all it reminds me of is a gutted lbp sackboy in comparison. How do you even "play" a 3D model?
>>
>>337501827
I'm hopeful but a bit worried.
The gameplay I've seen so far looks like levels are super small and if you want to make anything bigger than a few rooms then you have to copy paste the same elements a million times or use hundreds of level links.

Also they haven't shown off any of the logic tools. I hope they can make a logic system as intuative but also as deep as lbp2/3. Plus there's the fact that you need 2 moves to sculpt anything or create levels, I don't know if I can be bothered with that.

Apart from my worries I'm really stoked about how the game looks, their 'splat' system of rendering objects as a cloud of sprites instead of a polygonal object is excellent

They certainly were a class of their own. It had gotten old and there was too many gimmicks by LBP3, but I put hours into the first two games. The second one taught me the basics of programming with its logic chips.

I think my most popular level only had a few hundred plays but its play-to-like ratio was good. Overall an extremely comfy experience.
>>
>>337502175
If the game has a logic system like lbp's then people will be able to program their own game mechanics.

They haven't shown it off yet but in the streams they seem really excited about eventually revealing it.

Either way I'll be waiting for reviews before buying, you might be right and it could turn out to be 'create your own walking simulators'

>>
>>337502890
Yeah the team behind lbp3 really had no idea what they were doing.

Lbp3 was actually made together by a bunch of small studios, the same studios that mm outsourced a lot of work to in lbp2. Turned out to be a bit of a trainwreck, half the tools are redundant, the poppit is bloated and fragmented (some lights are under decorations, some are under objects, why!?), loads of bugs and the game in general lacks focus. Plus the whole hub world thing is stupid and doesn't work, what the fuck is the main menu for
>>

>not using based Team Picks to separate the wheat from the chaff
You have no one to blame but yourself.
>>
>>337503193
When its implemented well it works a treat.

If they're building their whole game around it then they probably put some effort into making it feel good. The devs themselves have been creating the game using the move tools so they definitely have the motivation to make it good
>>
>>337495226
Lbp 1 and 2 were so good.
Lbp2 is one of the greatest sequels ever imo, there is literally nothing that it does worse than lbp1 and it was fun as fuck. I wish I could play it again for the first time
>>
>>337496108

i wanna say this is a stupid comment

but omg I hate those floaty jumps
>>
If i could turn back time to play this game for the first time again I would.
