Uncharted 4 TECHNOLOGY

>Light shines through Nate's soft ear tissue giving a realistic red color on the top of his ear
>Nate and Elena's TV bevel has reflections of the tv on it
>Climbing ledges makes stones and debris fall down onto Nate's face causing him to spit them out of his mouth
>Snow sparkles in the sunlight

>>

It's such an impressive game considering it's on the ps4. It's the first game that has really wowed me on it.
>>
>>337487156
the TECHNOLOGY in Uncharted 4 makes me wish for an alternate future where MGS never diverged down the Peace Walker route and instead kept going down the MGS4/MGS3 style of gameplay and game design with the focus being on TECHNOLOGY and story.

Uncharted 4 felt more like Metal Gear to me than MGSV did.

>go right back on topic where they left off in a fluid manner that sounded completely natural and not the typical video gamey "just restart the last line you tried to say" bullshit

I was fucking impressed man.
>>
>>337488226
The ironic thing is that the "open world" segments and sneaking feel like they were influenced by MGSV.

Also, Kojima said that his next game will appeal to Uncharted fans, so I hope he's going back to the linear style

That feature made one part pretty bit weird for me, since I entered an optional outpost just as Sam finished telling a joke. I cleared the thing, got back to the car, and the "Now where we?" lead to Sam laughing to himself and Sully being annoyed at him. It took me a while to realize that was an extremely delayed response to the joke
>>
>>337488613
In GTAV they would say "dammit!" or something to that effect if you crashed into something, then would just repeat the line they were interrupted in. In this the entire line and conversation changes slightly to reflect something as small as driving under a waterfall.

Does Uncharted 4 have more TECHNOLOGY than MGS2?
>>
>>337488584
In a way, but I still like the classic MGS style much more.
Mostly because they're much more replayable, since they don't have a huge amount of barely interactive unskippable parts. Their stories are also more interesting that Uncharted's generic Hollywood writing
>>
>>337487156
Why is his ear glowing?
>>
>>337487156
This is nice TECHNOLOGY, but it doesn't look very realistic
>>
>>337488592
This looks actually realistic unlike OP
>>
>>337488893
Yes, it has the most technology I have seen in a game since MGS2.

>>337489024
>Mostly because they're much more replayable

Agreed, the gameplay systems in MGS have more depth than the ones in Uncharted, this leads to more replayability. Level design is also more clever.

>since they don't have a huge amount of barely interactive unskippable parts.

You underestimate the amount of classic MGS cutscenes and codec calls, and segments like the Cave in MGS1, Swimming with Emma in MGS2, and the microwave corridor/rail shooting segments in MGS3 and MGS4.

>Their stories are also more interesting that Uncharted's generic Hollywood writing

True, but Metal Gear trades in the generic Hollywood for Generic Anime, so its more of a taste thing than something that is objectively better.
>>
>>337488623
The hate is mostly concentrated in threads with an OP baiting for it.
Overall I think Uncharted is kind of a guilty pleasure. It's easy to like, but it's bad taste to say it's one of your favorites
>>
>start rolling around during gun fight
>gun gets covered in mud

Its a small thing but its pretty cool
>>
>>337489361
I don't count the cutscenes and codec calls, since they're skippable. The games do have slow sections like the ones you mentioned, but not nearly to the extent of Uncharted. Even the climbing is always exactly the same once you're played through it.
Thanks for the non-shitposting reply, by the way
>>
>>337488446

Not technology but I liked how they added the option of just holding the button instead of tapping it like you had to do with triangle all the time.

nah the ending means that there won't be another uncharted for a long long time

it's not that supernatural stuff was bad, just that the execution was fucking terrible in U2.

his mass murder was acknowledged in Uncharted 2, and he kills less in Uncharted 4 and they are all private army dudes so whatever.
but yea uncharted had a serious problem with that because of being so lighthearted, it was less a problem in Last of Us and Uncharted 4 is also a little more serious in tone.

>Light shines through Nate's soft ear tissue giving a realistic red color on the top of his ear
ears aren't that red even in direct sunlight. looks like it's fucking inflamed desu.
>Nate and Elena's TV bevel has reflections of the tv on it
it's not real reflection. it's just copy paste in reverse like basically all mirrors and reflections in videogames.
>Climbing ledges makes stones and debris fall down onto Nate's face causing him to spit them out of his mouth
this isn't impressive.
>Snow sparkles in the sunlight
also not impressive.

the attention to detail is cool and commendable, but this isn't technologically impressive at all.

I don't, the Uncharted games are about fun adventures and exploration, getting rich and making epic historical discoveries. The characters are walking around these beautiful locations and shit but they can't stop talking about their dumb boring domestic life for one second to have some fun.
>>
>>337503357
It's the best looking game I've played. Maybe not technically, but the art design, subtle use of physics and attention to detail really take it above the norm.
I wouldn't call it a great game, though

I'd say that games like Paragon and RotTR have a better art design, better physics, and identical attention to detail.
GTA V also comes close.

>>
>>337503824
In terms of attention to detail? Sure. It shows a level of dedication far beyond what most devs, both PC and console, shit out on a regular basis.

From a technical standpoint? Not at all. It's a single new animation and some particools with a trigger.

When the FUCK is PS4 getting this? I actually prefer TR over Uncharted.
>>
Is this one of those games that look shitty on screenshots but good in motion like bloodborne?
>>
>>337503826
The whole part in Madagascar where Elena wouldn't shut the fuck up about guilt tripping him over his stupid lie he told her made me groan and went on for way too long, and after that point Nate never had any fun anymore, it was all about trying to run away back home. The only glimmer of excitement I saw from anyone was at the end when Sam and Sully talk about doing some shady work together, with Sam basically replacing Nate. It made me wish the whole game had just been Sam and Sully since Nate is being dragged off to the no fun marriage zone by Elena. Women really ruin everything.

My money is on NaughtyDog doing some Sam/Sully DLC missions though.
>>
>>337503641
Why wouldn't you call it great? I genuinely find Uncharted 2 and 4 really great games and I usually hate most things. Uncharted 4 even has deeper combat, on MGS Phantom Pain level (but with less equipment to fuck around).

Sure it does have a lot of sections where you platform and talk to people but I found them very enjoyable and part of the charm of Uncharted. It's like saying adventure game has too much talking and reading. Same goes for replayability - I found the adventure to be great and it's quite long (12-15 hours). I will surely replay it one day, plus you have multiplayer. If it's a well made game, no matter how many slow moments it has, you will replay it (again, same as adventure games for example).
>>
Most screenshots don't do this game justice
It's the same with Crysis, just in terms of graphics it's not that amazing, but when everything moves and the wind and physics interact with foliage it looks amazing
I'm surprised it took this long to get proper foliage collision on consoles

It's mostly about preferences.
I value originality more than something well made but generic, and Uncharted is the definition of that.

I don't think the game has very good replayability either. For example, if I played in on a different difficulty setting, 70% of the game wouldn't change at all
