I'm just dying to stupid traps and it really lowers my motivation. I can handle the enemies but triggering a trap and not being able to react in time to it really grinds my gears. I know the area is designed to be like that but up until now I've gotten through everything by going slowly and surveying my surroundings.

>>337479756
I guess it does come down to that: learning the layout by continuous deaths instead of dealing with stuff as it comes. This kinda thing really turns me off. Oh well.

Another thing. The giant cats in darkroot, how am I supposed to deal with them if I don't have a quick weapon? I just homeward bone nope'd the hell out when the other 2 popped up.

The trees on the high wall aren't actually the pilgrims though. They're just sort of fucked up undead who are sprouting into trees.

The pilgrims are the ones from the intro and specifically came from Londor for ????

The shells on their back are to keep the fucked up shit from going everywhere.

Pretty sure the name for the flying ones are Pilgrim Butterflies too.

Actually no. They're the Londor Pilgrims, like Yoel. They have those stone shells on their back to prevent the growth of those branch-like wings.

Pontiff Sully also grows a similar pair of wings in his second phase. It's one of the things that identify a human who's fallen to Darkness.

Still, piss easy fight though.

Hardest DLC boss for me.

Artorias doesn't give you many openings but if you are patient you can get your hits and he isn't that hard to avoid.

The dragon wasn't hard at all - It was just another hug and kill fight with only some slight special attack distractions.

And Manus while being super aggressive is just too slow with his attacks and so easy predictable.

The Sanctuary Guardian was aggressive and fast.
>>
Any tips on cutting Kalameet's tail as a sourcer build, 45int? I can't manual aim crystal soul spears during his tail during the tail slam window, and he just seem to resist magic based dmg from melee.

Tried enchanted estoc +5, MLGS +5, MLBH +5, even demon spear +5 but he just shrugs off magic and even lightning damage.

On my like 10th try now, tempted to just give up and finish the fucker with dark beads...

No idea why so many people got afraid of Sens.

I died only like two times in there.
One death goes on the mimic and the other was me being too careless and falling into my death.

The traps are minus the first at the entrance are all fairly obvious. I didn't even know that the elevator can kill you if you stay on it because i simply walked out when i got to the upper floor.
>>
>>337479568
I never understood people's problem with Sen's fortress. It's the easiest area in the game if you pay attention. It can only be difficult if you don't find the bonfire midway trough.
>>
>>337483951
>I didn't even know that the elevator can kill you if you stay on it because i simply walked out when i got to the upper floor.
Heh
I had this same exact experience. I even casually walked through floor traps without seeing them and didn't get hit. The lightning Sneks didn't even hit me on those narrow walkways because the swinging pendulums blocked them. I had a nice time there.
>>
>>337480908
Hollows are turning into trees because the world is reverting back to it's original state, just archtrees and dragons, since the flame hasn't been lit for so long. This is explained in the lore.
>>
>>337482858

That's concentrated Abyss. Abyss Watchers are corrupted by the Abyss themselves, and red-eyed ones are hostile to others. I think their swords which give a damage buff against "abyss enemies" work against those black goops and anything with glowing red eyes.

Weirdly I didn't have any trouble getting through Sens. I spent hours banging my head against the wall in Anor Londo but Sens wasn't bad.

Then again I was a huge pussy and played 90% of the game hollow so I wouldn't get invaded, that probably helped a lot. >>
>>337492825
Basically, DaS gets really spotty on subsequent playthroughs past Anor Londo. You started seeing the cracks, the cuts and the confusing and you begin to realize how much is actually outright missing from the world, not just obfuscated.

You don't really feel this prior to AL because so much of the game is locked behind the lord vessel, and because the Catacombs and ToTG are fleshed out enough if you happened to wander in.

The game also starts to wear on you past AL because the design starts to suffer a tad.

I was mostly jesting, but I'd like to here his reasoning.

>Most other areas come down to just learning enemy placement.
