>No gore / blood in OverWatch
WHYYYYYYYYYY
It doesn't need it?
fuck off shill
So you don't shoot up a school lol.
>>337477749
Wrong thread?
>>337477742
Killing people in this game is gonna feel boring then.
>>337477845
Jack thompson fucked off years ago
Because it doesen't have any effect on gameplay, ameritard.
>>337477867
The ragdolls are enough for me. You've got growing up to do champ.
>>337478125
>You've got growing up to do champ.
>PG-13 game
>>337477693
Can bloody up dem waifus
>>337478242
Are you legally retarded? What the fuck does the ra-
Oh damn I'm being baited 6/10
>>337478306
Not baiting but you are playing a SFW PG13 game if it has no blood or gore
I mean for fucks sake even if you dont want to see it adleast have an option to turn it off, its win/win
>>337478841
I think. You misuderstood me. The guy that needs blood and gore, I'm telling him to grow up. The rating of the game is completely irrelevant.
>>337478938
>Said i wasn't baiting which is saying im the OP
Well adleast you didin't assume that was me samefagging
But anyway.
>The rating of the game is completely irrelevant
No its not.
>>337477693
We want our corpses to remain cute sorry.
>>337481240
To bad you'll only be killing 2 cute corpses then
>>337481760
You could've ad least thrown in the word ''edgy'' if you wanted to derail the thread
yea i was kind of disappointed that there wasnt at least blood. if your going to do cartoony dreamworks graphics at least add some gore like tf2 did.
Obviously I know it doesnt NEED it but it gives the game a little bit more which is fun.
>>337482031
It adds nothing. Just like it added nothing to TF2.
I honestly hadn't realized there wasn't any gore in the game until this thread, that's how little it matters.
I like overwatch because it doesnt require me to aim to do good
>>337477693
its a game for children you dont need gore you need memes and bright coloured heroes :^)
>I can't enjoy a shooter unless I see pools of blood and dismembered limbs
Easy there kid, don't you have some cats to kill?
It doesn't need it but for some games is a valid design choice to provide feedback and instant satisfaction to a player. Going deeper, blood can also be used as the basis of gameplay mechanics
>>337482287
>added nothing to TF2
The contrast between cartoon-styled art and gratuitous gore was done pretty well in my opinion
Gibbing is inherently satisfying in any shooter
>>337482952
TF2 did it well as a comedic effect and it works. If they tried it in Overwatch it would just look out of place and edgy, it would look like Blizzard was just throwing gore in to try and reel in the CoD and Battlefield crowd.
just give us all of the sfm porn and leave us alone
>try the beta
>really enjoying Overwatch
>notice a lot of people complaining but whatever it's fun
What religion should I join?
>>337482952
TF2 has the art style for it. It'd look out of place in Overwatch. Like I said flying ragdolls is enough.
>>337483362
>picking "sides"
Just play the game if you like it or don't play it if you don't like it. Don't listen to anyone else
>5 man junkrat riptire massacre
>no blood, no flying limbs, no guts, nothing
dropped
>>337482636
Like Blood Borne for example.
Not every FPS needs to be grimdark and edgy. I'm glad Overwatch represents a potential trend for bright and cartoony shooters, because Nu-DOOM just proved how tired I am of the same dead serious graywank that's monopolized the genre.
tracers face is enough gore
>>337483563
What mod is that? From my experience TF2's gore is pretty shitty.
What is the context of the fights in Overwatch?
I get that in TF2 it's two mercenary groups fighting over land, but in Overwatch it appears to be a bunch of super heroes fighting each other for a reason I can't determine
Gore or at least blood would be somewhat fitting assuming they're actually trying to fucking kill each other like in TF2
>>337477693
That's why Soldier and Demoman are more satisfying to play than Phara and Junkrat.
Having people explode and leaving behind bloody chunks of flesh never gets old.
>>337484034
>What is the context of the fights in Overwatch?
You join the server and shoot at the other team.
ragdolling gets me more tingly in the danglies anyway
>>337484034
it's a training room thing like in X-Men and Star Trekthat's my headcanon anyway
>>337484015
its vanilla game
Doesn't really need it. Having no gore probably was better for it anyhow, it's one of the only Blizzard games to have a worldwide release day including Japan.
>>337484034
Most of the heroes are former members of Overwatch and some are new additions wanting to help the fight. There's basically Overwatch heroes vs Bad faction heroes but some overwatch and badguys are on the same team or fighting their own faction.
It makes as much sense as tf2 where the mercs are fighting exact clones of themselves just in different clothes and there can be 12 of the same person on one team.
>being an edgy 12 year old american who needs blood, viscera and gore in everything otherwise his adhd will start acting up
>>337484034
Overwatch is somewhat of a private world police
however theres no real context to the fights themselves as more than half of the characters are "good"
>no one does Halo-1 style where they arms and legs flailed about until they hit something where they flopped after that
Explosions never looked so good
>>337484292
But there isn't even close to an even number of Overwatch heroes to bad heroes
Why build a framework for a story if your game is barely going to utilize it?
>>337484349
>defending a PG childrens game anyone can play while posting a PG childrens cartoon anyone can watch
Do you think Walking Dead would be more mature show with no blood, gore and other childish elements and should they be wearing gay pride costumes instead of the realistic colours, just to make it more mature?
And have couple talking monkeys too coz that´s so adult :^)
Blood and gore just wouldn't fit the look of the game. It's cartoony and goes away from realism but at the same time isn't trying to go over-the-top. Blood/gore really only goes with either extreme, not something that's in between. It wouldn't be bad to add an option for blood though, for those who wanted it that badly
>>337484407
I wish more games adapted this like red orchestra or some other games where it starts as a cool death animation then ragdolls
>>337484625
I think the story is more for their cinematics then the game for balance sake. Maybe in the future there will be a gamemode or enough heroes to make the story work in the game.
>>337477693
I love me some gibs, but Overwatch really doesn't need it.
>>337484643
Are you pissed about the lack of gore in Smash?
Being an M rated game doesn't make the game more mature by default
>>337484625
Story was there just to write some comics and animate some shorts in order to sell the game. All marketing. I highly doubt they will actually incorporate any of that into the game. I don't think they should either.
>>337484407
>>337484675
rainbow six siege has pretty nice explosion death animations imo
>>337485460
oooh that's satisfying
>>337477693
I want to gib tracer so fucking hard
>>337477693
To get a T rating.
Computer games have gotten so big they're going to tone down for a larger audience so they can make their bloated budgets back.
>>337477693
There are some great deaths.
>>337484643
By that infallible logic every good TV show ever has been bloody, realistic and/or depressing affairs. Walking Dead isn't a good show just because it's "mature".
Why does a game have to be mature to be fun?
>>337478027
Did blood ever have an effect on game play? Why need blood in games?
>>337486540
>>337486883
DELETE THIS
>>337487139
Your waifu a shit.
>>337486831
it was the visceral feedback sort of thing.
Where a spray of blood, an exploding head, anything really, felt good.
personally I don't think overwatch needs it, the reward is that no one is trying to kill you.
>even wasting GPU on unnecessary pixels like gore
Just go back to r/gaming or wherever you came from.
Frames > GFX
I wish blood was an option. This is coming from someone who pre-ordered
>>337486831
It's a good indicator of giving/taking damage.
>>337487294
>even wasting money on a decent server that allows a good netcode of at least 64 thick rate
Oh right! Nevermind.
