Is Uncharted 4 actually good or more of the same? I've seen some people praise the gunplay (whatever the fuck that is) in the Uncharted games, but the guns in Uncharted series never came off as anything special to me.

It's actually less of the same. U4 is imo quite different from the first 3 games. 1-3 (especially 3) has almost a constant stream of action and shooting which gets tiring to be honest. U4 has way more platforming and exploring (also because of the bigger levels). Combat is much better, especially for stealth playstyles, but there is a lot less of it.
Personally I prefer U4 over the other 3 but I don't really find first or third person shooting enjoyable with a game pad so that factors into my preference.
