Its weird. There doesn't seem to be nearly as much hype for BS than with the first game.
When the first one came out, shit was sold out everywhere and people were streetpassing like crazy. Even older guys I knew who hadn't played games in decades picked it up. With Second though I've only gotten maybe two streetpasses at all.

I don't know about the better gameplay, I think the dungeon designs are worse, the game flow is worse (how you collect new jobs over time) and the enemies and bosses seem more boring. (Lots of bosses seem to just be about summoning minions). The Baals are interesting but have a lot of stupid design choices, like that vial fingers boss that is basically just asking for you to use an hour long auto battle.
I'm not done with the game yet mind you, so my opinion might change, but I feel like Bravely Default progressed better, as well as having a bit more of an interesting story.

That's not true. Bravely Second makes you waste time running around in empty dungeons more, usually to solve stupid switch "puzzles" that require no thought, and any dungeons that have anything interesting in them (Like traps) are just straight up copied from Bravely Default.
As for jobs that's what I'm hoping for, the current jobs I have now aren't really too interesting aside from using spell craft. I'm even just using Knight as the main job on both my melee characters just for the excellent base stats.
