Twilight Princess is a great Zelda game.

I think it was one of the less creative Zeldas as far as content and mechanics goes. It just felt really unnecessary, and so many of the items were poorly implemented, even by Zelda standards.
I actually completely forgot the Dominion Rod was a thing until I played Hyrule Warriors recently.

TP is really fucking mediocre. 3D Zeldas after MM pretty much suck OoT's cock by trying to pretend to be this GRAND EPIC ADVENTURE by making us sit through boring story sequences that are predictable and lame. Not only that, but exploration is only satisfying and good in the dungeons while the overworld is pretty much a boring and barren hub.
Why don't they make newer Zelda games more like ALttP or LA where you don't get stupid plot dump shit every fucking minute and have a good balance of exploration between dungeons and overworld?

Not really. It was the worst 3D Zelda IMO. Everything about the game seemed bland to me. I mean, I understand that's what they were going for in the Twilight Realm. Just kind of a dreary, bland place devoid of hope. But other things were bland about the game, too. I guess I was intrigued by the well-animated characters and some of the dungeon designs and bosses really captured my attention. I can't say why because I haven't played it in a while. I remember really liking the dungeon where you moved the rooms around, the pirate ship dungeon, the very first dungeon and the underworld dungeon for some reason. I just thought they were cleverly designed.
