Doom 3 was "ok". Now the expansion pack, that was a great game.

What I remember about the spiders in Doom 3 is that the game wouldn't spawn more than a few at a time, so if you killed them and figured out where they were coming from, you would just stand there going bang.... bang.... bang... shooting them one by one as they crawled out of the hole until it stopped spawning them. I never disliked Doom 3 but Doom 4 looks really horrible to me. They took the Brutal Doom meme seriously and don't realize that people want more than to mindlessly kill waves of enemies. There were other ways to re-imagine Doom without making it a Serious Sam clone with lame as fuck melee finishers.
The latest game in the series being bad doesn't magically make the the other shitty entries better
I played through the first hour of BFG edition yesterday while waiting for d44m to come out
You spend 20 minutes walking through a base, loading screen, 10 more minutes walking, shoot a zombie and a space cop, go through 4 rooms and corridors with nothing in them, shoot another space cop zombie, then you get the joy of being introduced to your first monster closet.
It's borderline unplayable trash.
