But Bowser's Inside Story had the Challenge Medal which can up the game's difficulty.

Dream Team is the first and only Mario RPG with a Hard Mode option, and a lot of the bosses hit like trucks in that game.

Plus the whole Boss Gauntlet with Bowser X (Bowser's Inside Story) Antasma X (Dream Team), and Dry Bowser (Paper Jam) are legit hard foes.

I'ma huge fan of this series, and honestly one of the msot disappointing parts of it was that the Bros. never got more moves from learning more stuff out in the field, and even learning them in the middle of combat. Reducing them all to items just made it seem like the Bros. weren't good at what they did, they just had access to good stuff. That and some of the original Bro moves just looked more interesting. I've been kicking red koopa shells for 3 goddamn games, give me Choppa Bros. back, damn it.

BiS is as good as SSS. Never played Dream Team, but Paper Jam has some serious flaws. The biggest for me is how nothing the story is; literally nothing happens for the entire game, it's a fucking bore. It's all 'walk towards point A, while stuff stops you.' Then when you reach point A, everyone says 'go to point B, quick!' And guess what happens when you get to point B? You go back to point A. It's tedious as shit.
The entire paper angle amounts to nothing as well, since you could remove the entire paper world and nothing would change.
And you have to continually collect paper toads for no apparent reason as well, which are all alike in every way.

It has some hard as shit boss fights though. And the new card system works pretty well, but you don't even get THAT until halfway through the game. Basically everything about the battles feels good, but there's no other positives.

They're not that hard to pull of at normal speed once you know what to press to do the Advanced version. The only one I had trouble with was the Swing Bros.

Some of Antasma's attacks were cheap as shit and practically impossible to dodge, nine times out of ten I'd waste my turn using one of the max candies that I had an infinite supply of.

That fight is one of the reasons why I never want to touch Dream Team again.

How after Partners in Time, practically zero bosses had any unique music that wasn't final boss music.

I mean, Cackletta, Fawful, Popple, Bowser / Baby Bowser, Princess Shroob, they all got unique themes, even if the first two shared a theme.

The bosses have zero personality or charm when you can't pin them with a good battle song. This is why the Paper Mario series does so much better with that.

I went through dream team a bit and got bored. Now I'm playing paper Jam and I think it's better but It doesn't feel like paper mario should be there. The game seems pretty easy, especially now with battle cards wtf. Also bros attacks are still retarded item shit. The first one was perfect
